I love getting free samples from Sephora. When you place an order, you never REALLY know what you're going to get due to high product demands and product shortages, etc. With my last order, I had wanted to get a perfume sample, but was pleasantly surprised with the Drybar Blonde Ale Brightening Shampoo and matching conditioner. My hair had been looking a little brassy, so I was really excited to try it! This shampoo is super pigmented. It's very, very, dark purple, and if you have brittle hair like mine, it suggests to mix it 50/50 with another shampoo, so I did just that. This shampoo smells really good as well. Something I can't quite put my finger on, but it smells absolutely amazing! My platinum hair was definitely toned after using this product. The brassiness was all gone after just one use, and I was left with my beautiful white hair again. As far as this shampoo making my hair soft though, I had to take a point off, because I feel that this shampoo made my hair a bit dry and frizzy. It was very manageable, don't get me wrong, but it took a little extra TLC after I got out of the shower. It has a gently cleansing formula that contains deep purple pigments to cancel out warmth in blonde, gray, and white hair. Key Benefits: Cleanses hair without stripping color or moisture. Enhances shine. Leaves hair vibrant and healthy-looking. This shampoo counteracts brassiness, adds shine, and gently cleanses for the brightest, most beautiful hair. Lemon extract brightens highlights and preserves the integrity of the hair color, while chamomile extract gently boosts tones and increases shine. Keratin (a highly moisturizing protein) reinforces the structure of the hair and helps prevent damage. Formulated without parabens, sulfates SLS & SLES, and phthalates. This product is suitable for all hair types. This shampoo did an excellent job at toning my hair without staining my hands, which is a huge plus. If you don't have super brittle, or damaged hair, then I definitely recommend trying this shampoo out. If I didn't have such damaged hair I can really see myself giving it 5/5⭐.
