Desitin Diaper Rash Original Paste
- "Butt Paste works so much better for general diaper rash...HOWEVER if it's a raised red angry rash, more than likely it's a yeast diaper rash (if they are on antibiotics or have thrush they may get yeast rash) and the only thing that will take it away is an anti-fungal cream like one used for athlete's foot." in 2 reviews

I have used Desitin with both of my kids although it wasn't common for them to get rashes unless I changed the brand of diaper. I used it more with my daughter because her bottom was really sensitive.
This product is rather pricey, at almost $4 for a tube at my local Walmart. The paste does the job, wonderful at prevention, but it's also extremely difficult to wash off. While this is a pro for its effectiveness, it would be nice if it were a little thinner so that it would come off easier in soap and water.
I recently started using this for my baby and so far I like it. I apply it once I start seeing a little rash and it goes away pretty quickly. It's affordable, not too pricey. Definitely recommend to others.
My son has eczema and with very sensitive skin he gets rashes for everything it doesn't matter if I change his diaper often then normal.. he still gets rashes so this works wonders with one application he's all better.
I honestly hate the smell of these types of products. They smell so weird and nasty. That would be the only thing I would change about that. It actually works great the product itself is great.
Desitin is a go to product for most new moms... and it does work well, most of the time... but gosh it smells awful, is a pain to clean off and isn't safe for use with cloth diapers (the residue will cause them to repel). As we use cloth most of the time, we now shy away from Desitin and use other, better smelling, cd safe products.
My son was in the NICU for two and half months. The nurses that took care of him told me to purchase this Desitin for him to keep there in the nursery. Although this Desitin does it's job, he really didn't need it then and didn't need it now and he's nineteen months now. But does help when he's a little red.
must have in every home for any child in diapers since they often get diaper rashes. this helps to instantly soothe my children if they ever have a diaper burn and usually helps to clear it up within 24hours. has a very strong smell which i personally dont mind but i know others arent a fan of but worth it since it works
This is a go to as other posters have stated but there are much better on the market. Butt Paste works so much better for general diaper rash...HOWEVER if it's a raised red angry rash, more than likely it's a yeast diaper rash (if they are on antibiotics or have thrush they may get yeast rash) and the only thing that will take it away is an anti-fungal cream like one used for athlete's foot.
