Don't be lured by the bells and whistles of the compressor type models like I was. These machines do their job very well. You have to prepare well in advance because the freezer bowl needs to be chilled for 8 to 12 hours prior to usage that's the only downside, that and you can't make more than one batch at a time because the bowl will require additional freeze time. The paddle attachment is quite good for scraping the sides as the icecream mixture churns. Makes soft serve style and if you freeze your mixture for longer you can enjoy firmer textured ice cream. I love and prefer this to the fancier ice cream models because simplicity works better sometimes.
