Crown Royal Canadian Whisky is one of my go drinks when I want to relax with the guys, or just unwind at home. It has a smooth taste.
It’s great on the rocks, dry or even in a cocktail.
Crown Royal is one of those bottles that I keep coming back to because it’s always smooth, slightly sweet, and just strong enough - but still easy.
Right away you get a little vanilla and a little spice, but it finishes clean and you can feel it settling nicely in your throat without the burn that some other cheaper options often have. It’s not bold or complex, and that’s kind of the appeal - you don’t have to think about it.
I’ve had this both neat and over ice and it holds up either way. Personally I prefer a few rocks just to mellow it out even more.
This isn’t the bottle you break out to impress anyone. It’s the one you grab when you want something consistent that you know you’ll enjoy.
Pros:
- Smooth & Easy to drink
- Consistent Quality
- Works well Neat or On the Rocks
Cons:
-Not very complex
-Might be too mild if you like stronger, bolder whiskey
Overall, it’s a dependable, no surprises option that does exactly what you expect… every time.
I conducted a side-by-side taste test of Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey with another popular brand. The winner was Crown Royal all the way. I buy the 1.75 L bottle as it is more cost effective and lasts much longer than a smaller bottle. I have several ways of enjoying my Crown Royal: An Old Fashioned. I add several shakes of regular bitters and orange bitters then I add simple syrup, orange zest and ice and stir. So good! I'm a big fan of Crown Royal on the rocks. I also enjoy my Crown Royal with Ginger Ale Zero or Coke Zero. These are all delicious ways to enjoy Crown Royal.
