My first impression was almonds and I wasn't too sure about it but the smell after it sat for a few seconds it developed into the absolute essence of velvet, the creater wanted to make the feeling of a rose petal a scent. He did it, it isn't spicy or floral just 100% VELVET. I got it first from a scent subscription and loved it I had to get it again and now I've bought commodity's expression testers and velvet still blows the others out of the water, I'm going to invent in a big bottle because I truly wear it every single day.

This fragrance is beautiful and rich. It smells "modern vintage." It's sweet and feminine, but has an underlying note that makes it a little heavier and sexier. Great projection too.

I tried a sample of the Velvet perfume from Commodity and really enjoy it. It is sultry and mysterious, unisex but leans more feminine in my opinion. It reminds me of a winter cocktail party where you're dressed to impress and drinks are plentiful. It's warm and comforting. I pair this with a smokier version of deodorant and smell great all day or night. My favorite from the brand is Gold Expressive which is gourmand in a different way than this one. Velvet has notes of rose, smoke, and vanilla and transforms as you wear it. I ended up gettibg the Best of Velvet duo which includes the 30ml Velvet Expressive and 10ml of Velvet+ Bold. I bought it during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal and it was deeply discounted from the regular price. I'm unsure how the sales for this scent are doing because it was cheaper than some of the other scents. Hopefully it wont be archived but it looks like they bring those back from time to time depending on the scent. Either way, i should be set for awhile.
