This is a great edger. It’s very powerful and gets through the toughest areas. The 3 speeds is nice. It feels self propelled when cutting through the grass, which is nice but have to make sure it doesn’t get off line. There is a safety. The battery is well made and charges quickly and last long. High quality equipment.

i have never used a blade edger, i always have the string kind. we have a lot of little rock’s in our yard where the blades would throw sparks when hitting the rocks, but if you had grass and needed to edge them i could see this working well

Ego tools For the last 7 years I’ve lived in a neighborhood with an hoa that takes care of our lawns. I’ve had some low end store brand battery power yard tools for parts of the landscaping they don’t tend to often (back and sides of course). With the arrival of Covid I lost the work I had been doing for some 30 years and found my self doing (back)yard work for neighbors and all of my home tools were now also work tools. I got enough yards (outside my neighborhood)to do lawn maintenance that I purchased some gas powered equipment as my battery powered “home owner” tools were insufficient for this new task. The gas tools had enough power but came with their own sets of issues for each. I was thrilled to learn I would be able to test commercial grade battery equipment and after my first use with the Ego edger and hedger I bought an Ego blower. I have been supremely impressed with the edger and hedger performance. I currently maintain lawns and landscaping for 4 homes, each worth several million dollars. I’ve had neighbors of my clients compliment my work and stand and watch in a baffled sense of awe at how silently my tools perform. I am strongly considering the Ego push mower for these homes in this exclusive area. For edging: way better than my gas edger - lighter, quieter, more powerful it seems. The carbon fiber shafts make these the McLaren of yard tools. As many stars as possible for my rating.
