Color Oops Hair Color Remover
So my hair is like a dark blonde.. I thought it would be a good idea to dye it BLACK (I was wrong!) Luckily I bought this. It took all the black off my hair (it left my hair orangish yellow) but I re-dyed it that same night. Yes I did all 3 steps in one night which is probably a big NO NO but I was not ab to go out with blue (that's what color the black turned out be) OR orangish yellow (from this product) hair.
I actually used the blue Color Oops for removing excess hair color build up. It does what it says it will and doesn't smell entirely as bad as regular Color Oops. Just remember that it leaves your hair super porous, di the next color applied will be 2-3 shades darker than you intend. I tried to put a dark strawberry blonde into my hair and ended up with a deep auburn. The product works well though!
Okay I get it it is supposed to remove the color so it would change it a little, but I was not prepared for my hair to be yellow and orange. I used it because I was trying to get the red that I dyed my hair with was an actual orange color out of my hair and instead this made it worse I felt like it colored my hair and now it was orangy yellow yuck. I should have just dyed over the dye already ugh.
This stuff is a life saver if you need to strip the color out of your hair and don't want to pay a ton of money to go to the salon. It has never let me down. I have learned that it works best if you skip the third bottle treatment though. The third bottle always turns my hair black. The other complaint I have is that it smells horrible. Strong sulphur smell that stays in your hair for a very long time and makes your house smell like a giant fart, haha.
This product does a great job of removing color, but it smells SO bad - like rotten eggs. It smells worse than any bleach or hair color i've ever used. It stuck around in my hair for a few days also, which was a negative for me. My hair was bright red and I used this and it made my hair strawberry blonde, which was awesome, but it also made my hair fall out. I don't know if i'd use this again.
This product is amazing when used correctly. A lot of people complain about the smell or that it didn't work and I'm just going to say what do you expect it's supposed to smell like when it strips your hair. I've had every color hair you can think of lately I've been doing just red and this product lifted so much red I was shocked. It does dry your hair out a little bit but that's when you deep condition your hair but it is absolutely wonderful
If I could give it no stars I would. I was a cute gray color but wanted to get rid of it and go back to my plarnium blonde. I used this color oops and turned a neon yellow green color!! I was horrified. After head and shoulders and head and shoulders mixed with baking soda ... countless shampoos and a really deep conditioner I was still shamrock shake color. I had to do a soap cap to fully remove all the yellow green color. It. Was. Awful. Never. Again.
This product is only for non permanent colored hair, but this is incredibly easy to use. My sister had to use these and the color came out in a few swipes. The only thing I don't like about it is, that when you apply this product to the hair and the color starts to come out. It does get all over your hands. I would definitely recommend to others with colored hair. Note, that if you dont have colored hair, this will do nothing.
I was stupid and dyed my hair a color that I wasn't ready to commit to, so I decided to give this stuff a try and it really does work! It may not completely take the color out but it does a really good job of removing most of it. You can use it more than once, but I would suggest giving your hair a break for about a week or else you will damage your hair.
Not 100% happy with it but its not bad. The color oops worked decent on black hair, it took it to a medium brown. It also worked on red and brought it back to a brassy brown. Not bad. The smell was god awful. I smelled like a rotten egg / sulfur for 2 days. I tried to use apple cider vinegar with my shampoo to get rid of the smell and it didn't work. Price is decent. Application was quick and easy, clean up was fine.
Q & A
So I really want to dye my hair red but I have really dark hair and I've dyed it a dark brown not too long ago since I had bleached my ends and wanted to go back to my "normal" looking color. I've dyed my hair many times and since my hair is dark it has never really worked. I dyed my hair about a month ago a dark red and the color was amazing! but only on my roots -____- So my question is: Does this work!? Will this product remove color dye so ALL of my hair grabs the dye and not just my roots?
Will it work on red hair ? And is it better then bleach or will it damage as well
I used a box dye to dye my roots light ash blonde they turned orange will this take that out and if so what color will I be left with
how long after the mishap should you use it
Will it take out fun colored hair like blue?
