I like using classpass in new cities or when traveling. The pricing and charging customers different credit amounts is suspicious to me and makes it not the best value. Wish they had more pricing transparency. The app glitches often
I love that you can have variety in your workout without having to commit to a studio or gym a month! I typically do lagree and even though some of the classes get blocked off it’s a bit cheaper than buying them individually from the studio.
I am very disappointed. I downloaded class pass and wanted to try the free trial. I couldn’t book my 1rebel class so had to pay full amount for the class. I have 20 credits and I can’t use them at all!! It keeps saying I need to upgrade to use the credits but my free trial hasn’t end yet and I did not get any free classes with the trail!! Very disappointed with the app is it useless!! Can’t use it unless you pay £30 upfront for the membership. Can’t use free trial or free credits and the credits get wiped after the trial ends. Useless not worth downloading unless you’re willing to pay.
A great concept and a company I liked for many years, then the price gouging began. Then all of the technical glitches with their app/booking system also began... and, sadly, even when they admitted fault, they offered no real solution to rectify the situation or offer any make good.
PERSONAL:
Pros- 14 day free trial available before fully committing, great to see which classes/services are offered nearby, you can use your passes when you travel, perfect for trying a new activity or service before fully committing (doesn’t completely feel like a waste of $), passes roll over, nice referral program
Cons: cancellation fees are high and still get charged during free trial, this may be specific to me but there aren’t too many businesses in my area that are signed up with classpass, depending on what you’re using it for it might be cheaper to pay for the membership/service directly through the business
BUSINESS: my business offers services through class pass
Pros: GREAT way to acquire new customers, you don’t have to do any marketing/promo for classpass, you don’t have to list all of your services/classes on classpass, it’s easy to manage in terms of setting your business rules/cancellation policies/ forms needed, if a client cancels you still get paid
Cons: payout varies by business/price/service so you only receive like 50% of the true total cost, a lot of clients don’t feel the need to tip for services they receive on classpass, you do run the risk of getting one time only clients
I purchased a full price item where the date to purchase the item to get the free classpass is nov 22, so yes i purchased the full price item before that date to get the monthly free classpass. I screenshot them the PROOF that it literally says purchase before November 22 and then came back to me saying well classpass needs to be join and activated before nov 14th... how does that even make sense? On top of that they werent even able to provide me proof or a screenshot back because they know it's not in the fine print. How would purchasers even know? Very shady and scammy
Compared to what I’ve heard about the app before. They are saying that the app has less flexibility? I’ve downloaded and used the app not to long ago. It’s not as bad as what they say is happening. Yes, you only get to take one class per place and it does cost a little more, but it makes sense. The whole point of the app is to encourage you to try new things. You can connect with many people and just have fun together. Even with the increase in the cost of credits, it’s still cheaper than paying for a full session. You also get a trial before you commit. I had a one month trial with 38 credits (I had signed up through someone else’s link, so I think I had 20 more credits) One thing to note though, you do only get the exercise portion of the app on trial. The nails, hair, facials and massages must be and be bought on a plan.
In August 2022, I cancelled my account as Monkey Pox was surging in San Francisco, where I workout and live.
A few months later, I reactivated my account as the spread had slowed down.
While it is in Class Passes Policy to delete purchased credits with cancelled accounts, I have to say, the lack of flexibility and human understanding is truly disappointing.
Tbh with me, it’s not about the money. It’s about corporate social responsibility and treating humans / situations like this with care.
I'm the owner of a business. Doesn't matter how many times you reach out to them, they totally ignored you. Don't use it!!
Cancellation Response to ClassPass, this should give you an idea:Every appointment I make is cancelled, I do not think it is your intention to be a scam, but that is what it has been for me recently. I used to use ClassPass and love it, however recent changes to your model have made it so credits are unusable and frustration has become expected when booking through you. You have options available to book that are not real places, you have providers that explicitly told you they don't want to be on your platform, there are businesses that make requests and ClassPass doesn't follow through (ID of card used to book) causing appointments to be cancelled, you have time slots that are not available yet still confirmed. You're trying to stay afloat by offering more than you can provide and therefore actually putting yourself farther behind. Reassessment is needed. You policy not to refund points & money that is actually unusable (look at my account) is unfortunate to say the least. I will be disputing the charges from you and leaving accurate reviews anywhere I can find to do so, in hopes of giving other potential customers a warning. I am very happy to be out of this misleading & abusive arrangement.
