Description

Personnel: Dallas Green (vocals, guitar); Karen Winkelmann (violin); Anthony LaMarchina (cello); Bo Koster (keyboards); Matt Chamberlain (drums).Audio Mixer: Alex Newport. Recording information: Blackbird Studios, Nashville, TN. Photographer: Dustin Rabin. The Hurry and the Harm, the fourth studio outing from Ontario-based singer/songwriter and ex-Alexisonfire vocalist Dallas Green, looks to the past for inspiration yet keeps its feet planted firmly in the present, retaining its predecessor's penchant for melody and melancholy, while offering up an evocative, 12-song set that skillfully blends pastoral folk, suburban blues, and rusty nail-tattered Americana. Recorded at Nashville, Tennessee's Blackbird Studio, The Hurry and the Harm benefits from Green's tasty hooks, clever yet confessional wordplay, and the warm production of Little Hell producer Alex Newport, who infuses the collection with a winning, rustic ambience.

City and Colour is my favourite band of all time. Dallas has an impeccable voice that evokes so much emotion. The lyrics in all of these songs could very well be poems and are so intricate and meaningful. This entire album is a work of art. My standout tracks if I had to choose are: Thirst, Harder Than Stone, and The Way It Used To Be. I will tell you that City and Colour doesn't make a bad song - listen to it all!
