Healthy hair is good hair 💁🏾‍♀️ @influenster and @CarolsDaughter sent me their newest product, #WashDayDelight shampoo to try out before it launched! Pretty stoked because @CarolsDaughter products always have such an amazing scent, like a botanical garden 🌻🍃🌼 ——————————————————————— Sometimes I skip shampoo because it strips my hair of its natural oils due to sulfates and other harsh ingredients. So this #WashDayDelight shampoo is perfect for me because it is a water-to-foam shampoo free of sulfates, parabens, silicones, artificial colors and it’s blended with soothing ALOE (I love anything with aloe 🌿 - loaded with antioxidants 👍🏾, vitamins👌🏾, and amino acids 🙌🏾). I especially like the nozzle applicator, it makes it easy to apply the shampoo directly into my scalp for a deep clean that lifts away buildup. So it definitely deep cleaned my hair, but it stripped and tangled my hair a bit. I had to immediately follow up with a conditioner to add moisture back to my hair. I know that Carol’s Daughter is currently developing a conditioner to go along with this shampoo, so hopefully it will be moisture loaded to complement the shampoo. I have to say though, I was expecting this shampoo to be more moisturizing than it is. For what it’s worth, it is sulfate free, does a great job of lifting away buildup, it’s easy to apply and smells great. I would recommend it as a good sulfate free shampoo, just remember to follow up with a highly moisturizing conditioner/deep conditioner. I see happier #washdays ahead! 🚿💆🏾‍♀️🧖🏾‍♀️💁🏾‍♀️ #WashdayDayDelight #washday #influenster #carolsdaughter #complimentary

So little disclaimer: I’m not really a shampoo kind of natural, my hair is in between middle and high porosity and is pretty lightweight and thin so I find actual shampooing vs cleansing conditioners, co washes and rinses work best for my hair! With that being said this is definitely shampoo, I thought it would work more like a rinse since the water-to-foam formula and nozzle tip bottle reminded me a lot of one of my favorite shampooing alternatives the Cantu Apple Cider Vinegar Root Rinse! But where that is a rinse this is like I said, a shampoo. My hair felt SUPER clean after washing it, dare I say too clean...I would 100 percent follow this shampoo up with a deep conditioner to maintain moisture. This is a shampoo I will definitely grab for after protective styles like box braids or one of my 2 weeks stints wearing a slick back >.< (I know we’ve all been there lol) because it gets rid of build up with ease! But as a weekly shampoo I think it will just be a little too much for my hair type! I plan on letting my sister test it out in her next wash day since she has longer and significantly thicker hair than I do. This shampoo feels like it would work wonders for thick 3c and 4 type hair. I loved the smell too, very natural and fresh. It’s also very cooling on the scalp which makes it like a little spa treatment! Definitely a product to be tried for sure.

Let me preface this review with the fact that I have seasonal depression hair-- it's all split ends and dry af. Before I washed it, I had it in a braid out for a week with a variety of products in it that were not working for me very well lo. First of all, let's talk about how this shampoo smells! It has a very fresh, crisp scent and it stuck with my hair even after a lazy condition. (I normally leave my conditioner in for 4 hours or more, but I just washed it out in the shower this time) This first time I've tried it I washed my hair twice. The first wash was surprisingly bubbly despite all the product buildup in my hair. The second wash was, dare I say, incredible. Like, y'all. This shampoo foamed up like my kid's bubble bath suds. I could literally have washed my body with the suds if I wanted to... And perhaps next time I might because it smells so nice. Anyway, my hair came out clean and my curl pattern was Poppin before I even put in the conditioner, which is very rare for me. Anyway I finished off with SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner , and Carols Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey Shine Pomade 8 oz

I was sent this by Carols daughter for review! I have never used anything by CD before because they are kind of expensive and I wasn’t sure if their products would work on my hair. But I was sent one of their products for review and let’s just say, I FREAKING LOVVVVVVVEEEEEEEE IT! Upon receiving the product I was super excited. I was sent a full size bottle. But before I talk about the product, let me tell you about my hair. I’m a 30yr old woman. African American with natural (non chemically treated) curly hair. I’m 4A type hair. I’ve been natural for a few years. Although I’m natural, chemically treated hair can ABSOLUTELY use this and still gain great benefits from using it. I received a 16.9 fluid oz bottle. It’s a very generous size and even someone with a lot of hair, you definitely will get a few uses out of it. It has a twist open spout for laying the product on directly onto your scalp. The bottle is lite enough to precision apply without tiring out your wrist. And the twist spout top is easy to open with try or wet hands. I did happen to drop my bottle in the bath tub and there was no breaking of the top or sudden leakage from the bottle. In my opinion it’s pretty sturdy. I cannot speak for quality control but mines is pretty dang durable. Now for the shampoo itself. It is being sold as a wash day Micellar shampoo. Most of us know micellar water in face cleansers and makeup removers. Micellar is tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules. The one issue I did have upon reading it was Micellar water is that it (Micellar water)can leave a surface residue on the the skin which can cause pore/follicle blockage BUTT with this, follicle blocking should NOT be an issue because the Micellar shampoo is rinsed from the hair! Make sure you rinse good to make sure all the shampoo has been properly removed. Because it’s Micellar water, unlike other wash day (clarifying) shampoos, this will not strip your hair of its natural oils, it cleans wonderfully without the harsh dryness that other products can leave behind, especially those containing alcohol (WHICH THIS DOES NOT CONTAIN) it is sulfate free, silicone free, paraben free, no artificial colors, and vegan. Your hair will be left feeling light and clean. The spout was a huge added bonuses for me because it allowed me to Target areas I know more build up will be. Because of some of the products I use, I tend to get more build up around the front and perimeter of my head and not so much in the middle . I parted my hair and ran the spout along the part. I didn’t have too much of an issue with running because my curly hair did help catch most of the liquid. I can see women with much finer hair having an issue with it running all over the place. The consistency of the shampoo is like it is listed. It is like water but with a light scent. I don’t mind the scent but if you are sensitive to smells, you will notice it but it shouldn’t agitate your senses. It took a good 15 mins to part and apply the shampoo. I was a little worried that it wouldn’t later up because it’s so thin but it lathered up with a little bit of work. It has a lite foam that is t heavy feeling. After massaging my scalp for a good 10 mins making sure I got every section while slowly finger combing my hair. My hair felt soft and smoothing, almost like I had conditioner in it but I didn’t. I rinsed my hair throughly to make sure all the shampoo was removed. My hair was so soft I was able to finger comb the rest without pulling and tangling. I do recommend detangling before you wash your hair but I also finger comb in the shower. You can use a comb but I just chose to finger comb. It cleared up all the icky buildup I had in my hair with one wash. I used this shampoo for a total of 3 times. I deep clean my hair 1-2 times a week during heavy product weeks. Once I used it before my favorite conditioner and my hair felt amazing for the two days before I added product to it. Soft, lite, and manageable. One time I didn’t not use a conditioner after and while my hair didn’t completely feel dry after using it, there was a noticeable difference from when I did use conditioner. But in the shampoos defense, I’m a natural dry person. So if you aren’t, you probably could get away without using a conditioner if you wanted too. Would I recommend this product? Absolutely YESSSSS! It’s affordable-ish, it’s under 13$ it’s listed on the site for 12.99$ but as of 1/6/20 it is on sale for 10.39$. I say grab a bottle and let this product speak for itself! It paired perfectly with my favorite conditioner that isn’t CD so this would be magic with another CD conditioner. I was unable to provide photos but that was my fault in forgetting to take photos after usage. But trust me when I say, it’s fantastic. I’m now encouraged to try other products from Carols Daughter. Thank you Carols Daughter and Influenster for allowing me to review a fantastic product.

PROS 1. Nozzle Product Design — overall the bottle for this product is very functional. The nozzle tip works great to direct the product in hard to reAch areas directly to the scalp 2. Lightweight Liquid Formula— the liquid base allows this product to be incredibly lightweight. Some shampoos once applied feels like it adds extra weight or buildup on the hair but this product doesn’t. ——————- CONS 1. Incredibly Drying — this product is incredibly drying to my natural curls. It definitely removes buildup but I think it’s to the extreme to the point I must HEAVILY deep condition post washing with this shampoo 2. Wasteful and It Doesn’t Actually Foam— the product highlights that it easily foams but it does the complete opposite. To truly get a “foamy” wash you must apply a lot of product! Also the water base tends to make you waste more product than needed during washing 3. Beware it Burns! — another downside of the water base is that there’s less control over where the product lands and if it drips into your eyes it’s an incredible burn. That really is unfortunate as that should have been considered for a more gentle formula being that water easily runs every and anywhere! ——————— Summary: Overall I would not recommend this product for regular use. The pros do not add much benefit to my curly hair routine and it honestly did more harm than good by me needing to heavily deep condition afterwards! Like it’s REALLLYYY drying! I think this product would actually work incredibly well to wash protective styles like box braids or even sew-ins because it’s lightweight and will definitely get rid of the buildup for a clean feel and look to the older style if you’ve worn it for some time and wanted to revive the look for a little longer wear.

Ok so I JUST washed my hair with this product. My hair has been kind of dry lately so I was kind of afraid to switch up my shampoo but this didn’t make my hair feel crunchy. I love the nozzle as it makes it really easy for me to get the shampoo directly on my scalp (usually the moment I get my hair wet it’s a battle to get product on my scalp). It lathered nicely and rinsed well. My hair smelled fresh after (light floral/herbal). My hair was kind of dry after I washed it and was kind of hard to comb but I’m assuming it was because my hair was already feeling a little dry prior (my hair has never been dyed or permed so I guessing the cold air in California is causing the dryness). I have 4a/4b hair and I do straighten my hair. With that being said this product did not make washday easier by that much—I wasn’t amazed and I wasn’t disappointed. Overall it’s a decent shampoo and it does clean your hair! I’ll probably purchase a bottle after I use the complementary bottle Influenster sent me so that I can have it around. I was so excited when I receive this product, first because it is a product free of parabens, sulphates and it stands for the natural way. Also, I did try this shampoo 3 times before to write a review because I wanted to be sure about my thoughts. First I loved the natural fragance, it smells like Aloe, I did love the tip in the cap that helps you to reach the scalp. The consistency is different, it is not thick as the regular shampoo and I did also like that. My scalp was clean, feels clean, but my hair that is very curly was left in the tangle side so it was so difficult to detangle it after using the shampoo. First time I used it, I thought was because my hair was dirty than normal but I did try two more times and the result was the same. I did also try it in my 5 years old kiddo that has curly hair but his texture is less thicker and result was the same. I am sad this shampoo didn't work for me because I did love the ingredients, the idea and the smell.

Lucky me, My first Voxbox!!!First impression: Upon receiving the package I was already excited about trying it out. I read on the front that it was made with aloe and when I took a smell test the was very present. They give you 16.9 fl oz/ 500mL or product and I can only assume it's because the consistency of water. It does have a small nozzle that might help. First wash: After wetting my hair, I find that it's not too difficult to apply, and enough product comes out out the tip. It lathers very well but not as much as a "regular" shampoo. After rinsing out the product my hair is clean and soft but not stripped. After letting my hair dry, it still feels soft and manageable. Overall: In general , I would probably keep this in my regimen as a mid-week wash. It smells amazing and cleanses and refreshes your hair. I think this is worth a try for any hair type.

At first I was skeptical about using a micellar shampoo to wash my hair as I have really thick curly hair, however, I was pleasantly surprised with how well the product worked. I loved that it has an applicator tip so I can easily focus the shampoo on my scalp without wasting too much shampoo or having to add more. The product lathers very nicely and had a good slip which makes it easy to detangle my strands without damaging my hair. It has a mild but pleasant scent similar to cucumber lime and I love that is has Aloe in it which made my hair very soft and smooth. While the product indicates that it “doesn’t strip hair”, it left my hair soft and clean but it wasn’t as soft and moisturized as I would have liked it to be compared to other shampoos I have used. Overall, I enjoyed used this product as it was easy to use and made my wash day relaxing and a little quicker. I will continue to use the Wash Day Delight and I would probably purchase this product when I want to deep clean my scalp and hair. I would recommend this product to friends and family and anyone who has thick, coarse, curly hair as this product worked nicely in my hair.

I did receive this product complimentary. It does not really have a sent like a lot of other shampoos. This shampoo is very easy to use. Has a water like consistency which is good because it did not take very much for me to be able to lather it up. It will last a very long time for that reason alone. The nozzle on the bottle makes it easy to run throughout your hair both thick or thin. When I rinsed it out my hair literally felt squeaky clean (and it is). My hair felt soft and supple and still had bounce to it after the wash part alone. Would recommend to anyone to use if they are shopping for a new product.

This product did not work for me. It left my hair dry and unmanageable! My hair type is 4c.

My hair was NOT moisturized. As soon as I started lathering it on my scalp, my hair felt like straw and got so tangled. Luckily I use a good conditioner that saved it. My hair was so unmanageable for the rest of the day. I do not recommend.

It works wonders! I absolutely love it but it’s a little drying so make sure you follow up with a moisturizing conditioner!
