While this thermometer has came in handy many times for me, I can not say that it is my preferred tool for checking one's temperature. I do like the visual, easy to read, digital, led display. I do not like the annoyance of programming the time and date every time the settings go out of wack - which seems to be often. The instructions for management of settings seem fairly complex for a thermometer. I do like that it logs the last reading, But don't enjoy the frustration of accidental readings. If you press the button as a short press, it locks up and is difficult to switch it to reading mode again. Its nice to see a forehead temperature reader and I have had no issues with this function
