A warming gel cleanser that deeply cleans and detoxifies the complexion. This black cleanser heats up on contact with skin to effectively open and de-clog pores. Its gel texture transforms into a gentle and effective lather to dissolve oil and makeup, rinsing away pore-clogging surface debris, impurities, and excess oil. It refines skin texture, brightens skin clarity, and minimizes the look of pores over time.

- "It has a warming sensation so you feel like your skin gets very clean, but then it lathers very well and gets nice and milky!" in 9 reviews
I have extremely oily, acne prone skin. I was looking for a cleanser that would deep clean my pores, and a Sephora employee recommended this product to me. I purchased the 5 fl oz Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser from Sephora for $30. It is pricey, but there is a 1.7 fl oz bottle for $10; although the larger size is a better deal. This is a black charcoal face cleanser that warms on contact. It claims to visibly reduce pore size, lift impurities, ban excess oil, exfoliate, and brighten the complexion. My skin definitely feels clean after using this, and I rarely have breakouts. I love the warming sensation. My only complaint is that sometimes a piece of dried, hardened cleanser would clog the nozzle and make it difficult to dispense the product. Other than that, I love this cleanser! I highly recommend this cleanser for those with oily skin and clogged pores!
I feel like I am in the minority with my opinion of this cleanser. I purchased it at Sephora some time ago with the hopes of spending a little more money on a cleanser to do a thorough cleansing of my pores. Unfortunately, I didn't really see any difference in my skin, texture, or complexion. I used the entire bottle (mostly because it was not cheap) and it just never wowed me. It has a warm sensation on the skin, is fairly thin in texture, and is black in appearance. I feel this just was not worth the price tag for what I was looking for. It certainly cleansed my face but I have many other facial cleansers that do just the same. I believe that maybe if I used this with some sort of Foreo or Clarisonic that I may have seen greater results. I do not own those devices so if you do, then this may work nicely for you.
I purchased this product after getting a mini facial from a Sephora employee. I told her how i have very dry, acne prone skin, and she really helped me find products that worked. She used this product on my skin, and right away i loved it. It didn't leave my skin with that tight, dry feeling, but a little more hydrated, which felt great. It made my skin clear up in a couple weeks!
I simply love this product. I use it every day to take off my makeup and it literally leaves NOTHING behind but doesnt strip or dry my skin in the least. I had to get used to the feeling at first because I've never used a balm-like cleanser before and it is sort of thick and sticky and the instructions tell you to work it in for a while. That was weird to me at first but now it doesnt bother me at all. It really gets makeup, debris and pollution out of my pores after a long day and since I have very sensitive dry/oily combination skin its SO hard for me to find something that doesnt make me dry and red and then lead to over-production of oil and breakouts. But I've been using this for 3 months or so with great results.
I have tried many high-end cleansers after I ran out of this Boscia. I had used this boscia black cleanser that has activated charcoal in it for a couple of years and had Perfect Skin. It has glycolic acid so it keeps your skin refreshed and gets rid of dead skin cells which also prevents acne, and it leaves my skin incredibly soft. This is one of the cleansers that is always in a travel-size for road trips and in a bigger size on my sink. I recommend this highly because it did not dry my face or neglect to get all of the oil off. It was perfect for me and my skin type which is normal to combination to oily, it handled all of it.
I have been having huge pore and blackhead problem for the past four years ever since I started wearing makeup. Finally I have found this cleanser which I am so in love with. My pores keeps getting bigger and whenever I exfoliate the night before, the blackhead will just come back the next day. When I started using this I have less black heads since my pores tend to closed up a little. The charcoal heats up the cleanser and you will feel warm you it applies onto your face and it doesn't give you dryness afterwards. I definitely see improvement on my skin within two weeks!
I use it every night and morning to clean my face or remove makeup. I have tons of blackheads on my nose and around the center of my face, so I love that the cleanser warms up as soon as it goes on your face because I want all my pores and black heads to be cleaned out. I think it does an amazing job of removing makeup, especially brow makeup. Brow makeup is a little more stiffer and hard to come off so a makeup wipe isn't enough. If you can't afford the full size bottle, get the smaller travel size one; only $10 at Sephora! I recommend this product to all my friends struggling with blackheads or clogged pores.
It's a great cleanser, the only thing I have a problem with is that it does kind of strip your skin and you will need some face lotion of some kind after using this. I love the heating effect it has once applied and you're lathering it on your face.
Seriously one of my all time favorite cleansers! I switch between this and one of their other cleansers. Since starting to use this product my skin has never been better! I always get mine at Sephora, got to collect those points :)
The boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser was the first non-drugstore face wash I ever used, and I thought I was soo cool for trying it! The warming sensation is really nice and the product works into a good lather, but I felt it didn't actually "detoxify" my oily skin all that well. The product left my face feeling soft and smooth but not totally... clean? I favor products with salicylic acid in them and like the feeling that leaves on my skin better.
