Actually, the one that I have is not an 8 cup Bodum. It was a replacement by Starbucks because there was a recall on the plunger. The original one that I had was glass. I have had glass ones break before. But I took this one in because there was a recall. The one I have is a dark smokey color although still transparent. I love it, and I don't have to worry about dropping it. Highly recommend. If you're unfamiliar with using a French press it's very easy to use and it makes great coffee.
