How well do these mix protein? I've had some in the past that leave clumps of protein residue when mixing.

If the blender bottle does not mix the protein well, it is the quality of the protein rather than the blender bottle itself. With high quality protein, you will not find any issues.

Adding the powder first then water and shaking immediately helps to prevent the clumps.

They mix protein well. At times there are clumps, at times there aren't. I noticed that adding liquid before powder helps with that issue

My experience with them they still clump. I haven't found one that doesn't clump.
