PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
  • "Great creamy formula, lasts for hours and hours, but it does transfer easily. The color is a lovely red that is lighter than their other reds. " in 23 reviews
  • "A bright red with blue undertones that is guaranteed to flatter any skin tone! With a creamy texture, insanely opaque pigmentation, Besame Red is long lasting and hydrating. With one swipe to your lips, you're good for a hours and hours before you'll need to reapply. I can't get enough of the vintage packaging and perfect reds Besame produces, such a luxurious brand. If you're looking for a bright red that'll flatter your complexion, I highly recommend Besame Red 1920. " in 11 reviews
  • "Vintage colors, amazing packaging, and a way to not have to commit serious money for a lip color you're not sure of? Yes please! Besame Lipstick Matches are a great way to try out one of there vintage lip shades without having to make a long-term commitment if you simply aren't ready. The matchbook contains five applicators that are supposed to have enough lipstick on each for one application. Depending on how deep you want the color (which are semi-matte), I've found that you may be able to get two uses per applicator and still have lush, glamorous lips to show off. Along with all of those perks, the lipstick product itself is moisturizing and nourishing for lips." in 7 reviews

This lipstick!! My little vintage, old soul heart can hardly take how perfect this brand is. I purchased the 1941 shade Victory, and never have I had a color so perfect on my lips. This color is a replica shade that the army distributed with uniforms to the females serving during WWII, hence the name.
The lipstick formula is rich, non drying, and long lasting. It also has a delightful scent that I can’t quite place, but reminds me of vanilla.
You are sure to turn heads when you have a Besame red on your lips. Besame Cosmetics Classic Color Lipsticks

I absolutely adore Besame lipstick. They seriously last all damn day and have the most rich pigmented colors. They smell like vanilla and are easy to apply. My lips stay hydrated and I get so many compliments when I wear any of their shades. The packaging is very beautiful and retro. It really feels like something special when I use these. Dusty Rose is a beautiful rich rose color that just looks amazing. American Beauty is a gorgeous blue red that literally makes my eyes light up. It works so well with my complexion and is my absolutely favorite red lipstick. I feel confident and beautiful inside and out when I wear these. Please try these if you never have! I’m wearing Dusty Rose in the picture.

Review for: Merlot 1933 more...
Ever since I heard of Besame Cosmetics I knew I needed to have at LEAST one of their products. I'm so glad that I was able to get my hands on the 1933 Merlot lipstick earlier this year! Merlot is a beautiful deep red/ wine, hence the name Merlot, color. I have worn it for every occasion that I have attended and it holds up beautifully! It requires little touch ups and has an amazing staying power. It has a faint vanilla scent to it, but not too much where it can be overbearing and uncomfortable as you're wearing it. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and stays true to it's vintage influence. It is pricey but it is definitely worth every penny and it will not disappoint.

When I first heard about Besame, and the idea behind the company, I was ecstatic to try their makeup! The lipsticks look gorgeous. They have a nice consistency and are comfortable to wear, and the color payoff is about 4 stars. The only thing keeping me from bumping up my review is the fact that they don't last very long. They rub off fairly quickly and leave "punch mouth".

The close up picture was taken only a few hours after application.

I was at Asbury Park NJ and found this cute retro store on the boardwalk. Dusty rose is the color and I love the shade. It’s a nude color. Matte finish and lasts long. Beautiful package! It was expensive but You get what you pay for

These lipsticks are fabulous! I'm really fond of the vintage packaging and theming of Besame's products. I purchased one of the limited edition Snow White range shades, Snow White Red. It has Besame's signature squared off cut, making it east to line the lips then fill in. The product is extremely creamy and pleasant to apply. For this shade I noticed applying directly to the lip gives it a minor sheen. Using a lip brush or the recommended double blot techniques lessens the sheen, and also helps it to stay on throughout the day. I hope to purchase more shades in the future.

The packaging is amazing on this however the beautiful flowers and lettering does fade with usage. This is much more than I would normally spend on Lipstick. The edges of it do not stay as sharp with usage and become more dull which makes application more difficult without a lip liner or lip brush. It smells like chocolate though and last a very long time if you apply, blot, and apply a second coat. Keep in mind that this is not matte lipstick and that it does transfer because the company is all about traditional lipstick.

I think this is the perfect red for fall and it’s comfortable to wear. It last pretty long for a lipstick and when it fades it leaves a nice stain on the lips where it doesn’t look like you have just lined your lips. The only thing I don’t really like about this product is the shape of the lipstick. I find lipsticks that are this shape are so hard to use. However, the packing is so cute and vintage. If you live in LA and haven’t visited the store I suggest you do. It’s like I traveled back to the 1920s when I walked in.

Review for: Matches 5 X more...
I wish they still sold these individually versus in sets only! This was a fun and great way to try a color out before committing to a tube of the lipstick.

Each match is very saturated with lipstick so you have plenty of product for 1 application. They take up very little room in your bag and are a fun product to show off and use.

The matches are small and easy to use - the tip has a slight point to make lining your lips easier. I like to use the flat side to fill in my lips.

I have many shades of Besame lipsticks including all the full size limited edition Snow White shades. I love them all. They are beautifully packaged, wonderfully pigmented and the shape of the lipstick makes for expert application even without a brush.  Lots of research go into their products and the end results are amazing. Their products are worth every penny!

Is it worth it to try out the matchbox testers first or should I just bite the bullet and go for the full size? Has anyone used the matchbox tester and used it to make a decision whether or not to buy the full product?

These colors are amazing but I can't seem to get them to set right. They smear, bleed and leave traces all over the place. Any recommendations for keeping the color on my lips and not on everything else in the house?
