We definitely used to associate rum with beach vacations, until we tasted this delicious sipping rum made in the Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts! It's got the classic rum flavors of toffee and ripe banana, plus some distinctive notes of toasted nuts, cinnamon and vanilla. That vanilla comes from years of aging in former bourbon barrels. Ragged Mountain is a blend of 2- and 3-year-old rums, finished with local mountain spring water. And at 40% alcohol it's perfect for sipping straight, on the rocks or with a tiny splash of water to open up the flavors. tip of the tongue This is a great choice for bourbon drinkers looking to branch out. We also think it's great in a rum old fashioned: Muddle 1 teaspoon sugar and 4 to 6 dashes bitters in the bottom of a rocks glass. Add 2 oz Ragged Mountain rum and stir to finish dissolving the sugar. Add ice (ideally one large cube) and stir again until the drink is very cold. Garnish with a lemon or orange twist.
