This is a temporary bronzer, not a tanning bronzer. It goes on easily although I don't use the sponge applicator included with it. I just apply it like lotion. You can layer it if you want but I use it on my legs which are whiter than white most of the time and it takes the edge off. I think it smells great compared to a lot of bronzers or other tanners. It doesn't seem to rub off on clothes either. It washes off in the shower. A good option for giving a little color and glow to your skin.
