I love this product! It blends in my foundation seamlessly even though I have combo flaky skin with breakouts. I love how it smooths down dry patches rather than emphasizing them. It gets much bigger when damp and yet does not absorb all of your makeup. This has the bounciest texture I have encountered in a blending sponge. It is not too firm but still durable enough to last. To all of the people experiencing tears, you have probably been digging your nails into it unconsciously. It is so squishy and easy to do as it is and much more so when you are focusing on getting an even blend. I wash mine with anti-bacterial dawn mixed with virgin coconut oil(to break down the foundation) and massage in until I see the foundation is gone and then rinse until no more bubbles come out. PLEASE DO NOT use face wash that contains salicylic acid or glycolic acid to wash it. These WILL break down your sponge. I like to dry mine laying sideways on the top of the container it comes in. If you lay it fat end down, like they instruct, moisture gets trapped and mold could potentially grow. Make sure to squeeze out all the water you can with a clean, dry towel first to speed drying time so that water does not sit for too long inside it. I find it cleans easiest right after I finish using it. The reason I took off a star is that $20 is pretty pricey for a sponge that needs replacing every 3 months. Also the dye bleeds whenever you wash it. And it could be maybe slightly less firm. But, overall, I love it!

Honestly, I cannot live without a beauty blender. I use it for foundation, concealer, and sometimes powder. I used to use them dry, and that was a bad idea. I highly suggest wetting it before use, like soak it under that sink until its as big as possible. Than squeeze out the excess and you are good to go. The wet sponge absorbs the excess product so you do not end up caking on your makeup. And its quick and easy. I highly suggest getting the beauty blender cleanser as well, its amazing and I use it to clean not only my beauty blenders but all my brushes. When you wash the pink one, it does bleed pink into your sink. The black one I have does not do that. If you do not have one of these, its a must have. It seems expensive, but when you think about it replacing your foundation brush and concealer brush and maybe your powder brush, it is so worth it.

There’s a reason this is the #1 makeup sponge,... For all those complaining about the price or looking for a cheap dupe, you obviously haven’t tried a real beautyblender before. This pretty pink sponge gives you the most effortless airbrushed makeup look. The quality is unmatched by all those other sponges... I love my beautyblender and would never consider getting another brand, because I’m all about quality over quantity. If you do the math and see how many of those cheap sponges you have to buy per year, then compare it to buying one legit beautyblender,... You’ll realize you aren’t saving any money. I did the math and that’s why I’m converted. This sponge is literally the best one out there, no exaggeration. And it’s so easy to use, just wet it, let it expand, and bounce it on your face until you have the coverage you want. If you take good care of it, this sponge will last you quite some time. I replace mine every 9months. So what are you waiting for? Head to Sephora, buy the original beautyblender, and experience perfection.
Ok, i know... these are the most hyped beauty product of the last five years, right? i used every single dupe i could before deciding to bite the bullet and purchase this little devil, but i did purchase it and... I am so glad i did. Nothing compares, the Real Techniques sponge is a close second, but no one has Beauty Blender pegged down. The sponge is unbelievably soft, and has just the right bounce to keep blending seamless but not painful or a chore. The sponge also soaks up less product when damp, and can go longer without being cleaned (although i wouldn't recommend not cleaning it, 'cause ew). I still think $20 is a crazy steep price for a sponge, but i do think having at least one in your personal makeup kit is worth it.
I love Beauty Blender! I always use mine damp and I use the Beauty Blender Liquid soap to clean. Yes they are pricey but usually you can find promos online for them! This is the original and my favorite makeup sponge. I have had several! I will say this: the first time you clean the hot pink one, some of the color does come off, but only when you put soap on it. I have never had an issues of it actually staining my face :) I feel like if you take care of them, they will not rip. It is recommended to only have them for a few months due to bacteria growth! I will always keep buying them because I love applying my foundation/ concealer/ setting powder with them!
How can anyone not love a beauty blender? This applicator is a staple in any makeup lovers collection. I've been using these since they first came out and it has never left my makeup routine. Dampen beauty blender for a glowy look or use dry for an allover matte, full coverage look. You can use this to apply foundation, concealer, cream contour, liquid highlight or anything liquid in your makeup routine! You can also dampen your beauty blender and use it to apply powder highlight to your cheek bones or any highpoints of the face for a blended, natural glow. This is a must have in everyone's makeup collection!
Let me begin by saying I do think the beauty blender is effective. It does create a fresh natural looking foundation, is good for setting powders and is gentle on the skin. Blends makeup seamlessly. However, I think the work associated with using it outweighs its benefits, given the little time I have/am willing to devote to makeup/looks I am comfortable with. I don’t like that it needs to dampened before each use, because that’s hard to manage when on the go. It’s kind of hard to clean as it gets stained relatively quickly and is apparently not anti bacterial. I don’t appreciate that it is difficult to use dry. If that were the case, I would be more likely to use it on the go. Also, it’s $$$ and now there are plenty of cheaper, more versatile and easier to use alternatives available. If you are a pro makeup artist or are able to spend lots of time on more complicated looks, or don’t mind dampening it each time, you’ll like this. But, if you’re a busy and impatient, natural makeup loving gal, this may not be for you. Instead, I recommend the makeup bullet, or any brand of stipple brushes or silicone sponge (great stipple brushes and silicone sponge s can be found on shopmissa.com)
Although they are pricier than other blending sponges, I sincerely believe that beautyblender brand does a better job blending in my makeup. The size, shape, and density are perfect for pouncing foundation or concealer into the skin, and you can use it to apply setting powder/bake, blend blush, contour, highlight, etc. I use a damp beauty blender to bounce makeup gently into the skin and it gives me a gorgeous finish. When the sponge is damp, I feel that it blends nicely and doesn't absorb too much product. I use castille soap to clean my sponge before each use, rinse in warm water, and squeeze out the excess so no water is dripping. Then pounce away!
This is my favorite way to apply my tinted moisturizers and water based foundations. Other brushes and sponges absorb so much product because of how water heavy their formulas are. This sponge allows me to blend and build up coverage quicker than any alternatives I've tried and has the most seamless end result. I've tried the Real Techniques sponge and found it too large, awkwardly shaped, wasted more product, and just too dense that it didn't blend well, making me spend more time applying my makeup. I wash it regularly with my Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser because it cleans it quickly and has gentle ingredients (don't use acne or antiaging washes - they will break down the sponge). The shape is my favorite out there because it easily gets into every corner with the pointed end and the flat end covers a lot of space quickly. I did realize that I have to be careful when squeezing the water out because if your nails dig in it will tear the into the sponge. I don't wear makeup everyday and because I wash everyday I use it I end up keeping each sponge 9-12 months. I think getting a new one every 3 months is unnecessary if you wash it every few days. The sponge does break down and get too soft after a lot of use but this isn't until about a year of 2-3 days a week of use. I do agree that the price is steep but I only buy when I have a discount (like Sephora's sale) or when I find it somewhere at a discount, like Costco or Marshall's.

I spent a lot of time trying to not spend the $20 on the beautyblender and opted for knock-off versions. This was a big mistake on my part. After finally caving and buying the beautyblender, it's clear why it is unique and unlike any other brand. The material and feel of this product is the absolute best for applying a wide variety of liquid makeup. I love using the round end for foundation and the pointed in to blend out concealer on my under-eyes. Other versions will just cost you money in the end by soaking up more product and doing a much worse job. I will never go back to other sponges.
