Bard Valley Natural Delights’ Organic Medjool Dates in the 2 lb pack sold at Costco is what I keep in stock in my refrigerator. We eat a couple of them stuffed with a cashew for the balance of sweet and salty and soft and crunchy. Putting the cashew inside the date is the only way my husband will eat them. I like that it is a great snack, and 2-3 dates is about 140 calories. They always taste good and fresh and give me the sweetness I crave. Additionally, a serving of 2-3 dates provides 14% daily recommended dietary fiber and 6 % potassium and to a lesser extent calcium and iron. I also like that they have the pits that I can removed myself. The only downside is the consistency of softness and size, which vary within a container and from one container to another. Sadly, I have found more bad dates covered with black powder inside.
