I get okay sun protection from this sunscreen. The last time I slathered this on myself, I still ended up with distinct tan lines on my chest and shoulders. I wouldn't blame the sunscreen too much though as I typically tan very easily. Just a word of caution though... this sunscreen will most definitely give you that ghostly, white cast look if you have tan to dark skin. It is difficult to rub in and will take you a good three minutes to blend the white cast away. But since this is mineral-based sunscreen, after all, you would expect the UV-filters to give you that ghost effect. Just the normal downside of mineral sunscreen. :( Other than that, this is a fairly affordable sunblock. I bought mine at Walmart. The packaging is super which is what initially drew me in. I wouldn't purchase it again but would use it if it was the only thing around.
While pregnant I discovered the importance of healthy, natural and pure ingredients. I used this sunscreen throughout my pregnancy and still use it daily no matter what. It allows my makeup to go in smoothly and is not sticky. This is also what I’ll forever use on my baby. babyganics spf 50+ sunscreen lotion
So, I have really sensitive skin and often break out from all kinds of sunscreens. My little cousin had this at the lake one day and I said, "What the heck! Might as well try it." I put it on and to my surprise I didn't break out. I have been using this ever since. I recently took a trip to Mexico where the sun is extremely hot and brutal and I didn't burn once! I have bene so happy I have found something that works for my skin, even if it is technically made for young kids. I am giving it 4 stars because it does take a bit of time to rub into your skin. It leaves behind a little white residue.
I have been using this on my little one since she was brand new! She was born in July in Texas, so sun protection was a must. I love that there are no parabens or fragrances to irritate sensitive baby skin. We have another baby on the way due in August, and he will use this also! It’s the only baby/children’s sunscreen I will buy.
I tried this on me and my baby today and it was just 90 outside. Thinking that we have some good SPF for the first 20 minutes of pool time we did not wear a shirt but just got into the pool with bathing suits. Guys right now I am in so much pain my shoulders arm and back is tomato red and my babies arm got sunburn and we did not even stay too long. I am sorry but this product sucks.
Great product for mom & baby. Applied one time (we also have babyganics face stick sunscreen) & didn’t apply anymore for the remainder of being outside; 3-4 hours! It’s great on his sensitive skin. I haven’t tried any other products & I don’t think I will. Babyganics sunscreen is awesome, totally worth the money. babyganics spf 50+ sunscreen lotion
I used this on my daughter from 6months all the way to 18 months, and it works GREAT! I love how safe it is to rub into your baby's skin and still give great sun exposure protection. We live in Texas where the sun is always shining and the temperature is always blazing, and not once did my extremely fair skinned daughter get sunburned! We apply every 2 hours. It's a nice texture, not too thick and not too watery, and spreads a TON. A little goes a looong way! I will never purchase anything different for my baby girl!
My baby has sentive skin so anything harsh makes her break out so i ended up trying this during a sunny beach day and my baby's skin didnt have any kind of reaction, she didn't get a sunburn however i did apply it once every hour specially after she got out of the water.
I’m giving this sunscreen 4 stars only because I haven’t tried any other kinds on my son so I have nothing to compare it to. So far so good! I have freckles, so I lather this stuff onto my baby to make sure he doesn’t get burned! I picked it up at target because I had a coupon, but the price is reasonable in general so I would repurchase.
Worked well on my baby while we had a trip to Disney in Orlando, FL. No side affects and covered him well with no sunburn. Also like that is mineral based with no harsh chemicals or parabens. I would defiantly recommend to others if they are in the sun with there baby or children.
Q & A
What's the benefit of the packets versus a traditional or spray sunscreen?
Has anyone tried this? I am looking for a good sun screen for my girls and have not found a good one. I don't want anything that is too greasy and what does it retail for?
Does it really work??
I've been looking for more of natural sunscreen for my kids. Does this work well or does it have to be reapplied every 20 minutes?
Is this sunscreen heavily scented?
