This sleep suit absolutely was a sleep saver for my son. It helped him sleep better at night. The sleep suit is a thicker cotton and covers his arms and legs. The sleep suit was recommended because my son would startle easily and would wake up during the night. This suit restricts his arms just enough that he goes back to sleep. I would CAUTION that the suit is a thicker cotton material and you should keep an eye on your baby to make sure they don’t overheat. My son sleeps in His diaper to help ensure he is not too hot. I will definitely keep so I can use for my next child.

We LOVE the Magic Merlin! We stopped swaddling our boy around 10 weeks because he kept breaking out of his swaddle, causing him to wake up. He had previously been sleeping through the night before the Merlin so I can’t attest for that, but he continued to sleep so well in this. The sleep suit kept him super comfortable and warm and let him have the freedom of having his arms out while also controlling his startle reflex. We stopped using it around 5 months when he started rolling in both directions and we were so sad about it. Plus they look like little astronauts in this and it’s the cutest thing ever!

Once he started to roll over at 3 months old, we were struggling with not being able to swaddle him. This swaddle was truly a life saver. It still allowed him to move freely without any restraint. We just recently retired the swaddle at 8 months, but it has been one of our best baby purchases yet to date.
