ATT has bad customer service now.  Even in the brick and mortar store It's bad service.    Don't fall for a bogo program like I did.  Like the BOGO iphone from 2017 Christmas promo.  I just now received my credit for one of the iphone devices on an installment plan.  ATT customer service really wasted my time in trying to get me the credit.  I tried various methods to get the credit back.  I called customer service.  I even tried for online chat.  I even made repeated trips to the ATT store.  In fact multiple reps said the account wasn't even notated of a problem or that I had even called.  One time  I was told that the case would be turned over to a supervisor.  A couple of reps told me that I would have a credit in 2 weeks.  Another rep said  I was calling too early regarding bogo credit and the credit would show up in April.  Even a supervisor was requested and said she would call the following month to make sure the credit was issued.  She never called.    I was contemplating being one of those people that contacted the media to get the credit.    Then I finally got a representative that made a report and asked different questions.  I had to provide internal numbers out of both phones for her to complete her report.  Then 6 weeks later I finally have a credit for the over billing.  The entire customer service process was difficult as they wanted to sell me their tv services every call.  In fact 1 rep said since I was now saving money I could get tv service from her. Such terrible customer service from ATT.  Never again.  Multiple issues dealing with ATT.  I have had payments that didn't posted after I physically went into a store(not an agent) but I have a receipt.  Apparently their computers in the store were down.  So the paper payment receipt was useless.  I have had to cancel a line recently and was transferred to special departments only to have the line really not canceled the next month.  ATT is dropping the ball on Customer Service.  Do not waste your time like I did.

edited to add to this situation July 13 2018

My bill doesn't show the credit for the iphone bogo from dec 2017 now.  To recap it took months to get the bogo iphone credit for dec 2017 and it was processed as a lump sum that generated a credit greater than the amount of service last month.  Customer service says this installment credit will now magically appear as a credit when a payment processes but not on any documentation that I am being mailed.  Manager confirmed that I am indeed being charged on paper for the installment of the free phone but it will not be billed when they draft the payment.  Just another reason not to deal with att if at all possible.  As I do not have a lot of trust for ATT at this point and now for the rest of the bogo iphone contract I will be forced to check behind att and see if they did in fact draft me a lesser amount that the bill shows.

This is a warning to whoever is thinking of getting AT&T service whether it's mobile or cable and internet AT&T is not a good service at all they trick you into signing in on a contract with their service they start you up by saying you will save money but that's a lie it's all a trick they run your bill up high with extra charges basically they tell you what you want to hear in the beginning but in the end everything that they tell you is a lie I have had they service for almost a year now and I can't wait till my contract is over with them I get a outrageous bill every month I'm paying $340 for mobile and cable service with AT&T now tell me that's not a outrageous bill when when I first called to get service with them I told them that I was on the 5th and come and that I will only be able to pay $100 a month for my cable the lady talked me into getting mobile service with them telling me that my service would be cheaper with the mobile service  add it on which was a lie now I'm in a contract with them and I'm stuck in a contract with them because of their lies

I've had AT&T forever and they suck! The service/customer care is horrible. Whenever I go to fix something wrong with my phone, I come home and it ends up not even being fixed. Whether its on the phone talking to an associate or in the store speaking to an employee the service is always terrible. A lot of time the wifi is horrible aswell.

My husband, mother in law, step son and I are all on the same ATT plan, and last year my MIL switched over to ATT cable and internet so we could all have unlimited data... it has worked out great, any problems we've had were resolved fairly quickly, so far they e gone above and beyond to keep is happy... part of that is that we aren't afraid to stay on the phone griping for hours and they know it. You just have to be firm and stand your ground with this company, and they do what they need to keep you happy.

I have had them for 10 years because my dad graciously lets me stay on his plan, but I’m not super impressed. Definitely not the worst out there, but spotty coverage in certain areas and having to dance through hoops to speak with Customer service reps is not endearing

I've had a really bad past experience with AT&T I really hope they have changed but lying about what you can do on a plan to me is down right a jerk move esp since you ended up getting charged for what you were TOLD was included in your plan.

I've used AT&T for a long time. Before it was AT&T. I used to LOVE them. Before I could purchase a phone after 2 years for an upgrade at a decent price. Now they call it the "next" program which sucks! The "next" program makes you pay the total price for the new phone but the upgrade program you only had to pay a quarter of the price of the phone. They also have a crappy "unlimited" plan. It says unlimited but once you reached 26 gigs they slow it down. Greedy!

I have been a customer ot At & T for several years.  We currently have 4 phone lines and it cost me about $325.00 a month, rip off, I know.  In the last few months I have received new iphone 7s because of insurance claims with broken phones, now the iphone 7s don't charge both of them.  I am not going to claim another insurance claim and pay another $200.00 for a phone to work again for two or three months.  AT & T hasn't been very helpful with this problem I am having.  Thinking of switching to another company, just not sure which yet.

I had at&t services installed today & I am absolutely satisfied with how everything went. The installation was fairly quick , the agent was very friendly & all the wires needed to install are screwed to the wall very neatly. I've never had a cable installer actually make sure wires aren't laying around on the ground & mess isn't cleaned up. The Internet is so fast & everything is just perfect! Way to go at&t!!

I have just recently switched to At & t about 2 months ago. I had Immix before that, and before Immix I had Verizon. I was extremely pleased with the customer service provided by At & t. However I feel like I am constantly dropping calls in areas I feel that I should have cell phone reception. This has never really happened to me with a cell phone provider. Does this happen to anyone else?

Is AT&T Next really worth paying extra for a new phone every year?
