Our cat door survived through 5 cats (not necessarily at the same time). Once they got used to going in and out, they had no problems using it. It was tough and durable. Even the small(ish) dogs that came to visit could use it. We eventually had to replace it to fit our large dogs (the rough dog usage snapped the locking mechanisms off, but we never really used them anyway). No complaints about the cat door itself though. Good product.
