Angelcare AC201 Movement and Sound Monitor with 1 Parent Unit
Top Questions No one has asked a question yet! Be the first!
First, you have to make sure that there is a hard surface between the monitor pad and the mattress or it won't work properly... fortunately, our spare dining room table leaves did the trick.
Secondly, it might take a bunch of tweaking to get the sensitivity levels right between it going off constantly if they move too far away from the sensor pad and not going off when you know they're not moving (like not in the crib).
Although there were quite a few false alarms until we got the sensitivity set just right, the peace of mind of knowing that we would be alerted if baby stopped moving/breathing was worth it.
I don't know if we would have purchased this particular model had we bought it for ourselves--probably would have gotten a video monitor--and the sound monitor function didn't work as well as our separate monitor, so we mainly just used it for the movement part.
Also, due to issues with infants getting entangled in the cords, they sent us a free kit to anchor and cover the cords to precent further incidents.
