I have mixed feelings about the red cross. Although I love the fact they do send people to areas in need to assist, I've heard bad things about where the money that people donate goes
I've donated blood several times and was always met with wonderful people who made me comfortable and made me feel good about donating, even if I had a problem doing so.
The American Red Cross is an amazing organization that helps people in need medically. I'd love to give blood and I've tried multiple times, the only think I wish is that I wouldn't keep running into problems when trying to give. This organization is doing a great job
Every year my high school and my college campus would have a local Red Cross blood drive and I made sure to be apart. I'm not scared of needles and I believe everyone should try to participate in donating blood, because you know your saving life's and helping others. My sophomore and junior year of high school when I tried to give blood it would very slowly and I never could fully fill the bag is always get like 3-4 inches away and then the nurses would try to have me spin a ball, until they'd finally have me stop and tell me that they appreciate that I tried but they could tell I was getting light headed and I would get disappointed because I really wanted to fill the bag completely. Finally my senior year of high school I filled the bag completely and I was so proud and thankful I could finally help someone.
These people are amazing! Every time theres a tragedy they are there so quick and do everything they can to help! Its the same when you donate to them. They work had to make sure things are sanitary and are grateful for everything!
My dad had a lot of health problems these last 2 years and almost died on me ! And the Red Cross gave him the blood transfusion he needed to get healthier again! I'm so thankful for god and all his guardian angels that looked over him!
I donate blood as often as possible to the red cross. Its a great organization to donate to. I love that they go so far and do so many different things for those in need.
Great organization, we work with them at a lot at my job to certify our life guards and aquatics staff. I've been cpr/first aid certified my self and the instructors are always great! The ARC does a lot for our communities!
Over the past few years I have come to learn that the American Red Cross provides so many more services than just Blood Drives and National Disaster Relief. While these are both excellent services, it was what I learned as my time with the our location DAT team that made me appreciate the ARC so much more. The American Red Cross and it's regional chapters also provide individual family support to those who loose their homes in house fires or other similar disasters. The ARC will provide the family with some immediate necessities (soap, tooth brush, deodorant, etc), as well as put them up in a hotel for a few nights, and provide them with a card specifically to purchase clothing and food in the days the follow the disaster. There is also support for the replacement of some medical supplies and medications. If you know of someone that is affected by a house fire, make sure someone contacts the national Red Cross and the local chapter will be contacted.
The Red Cross has volunteers in multiple locations for you to donate blood to those in need! I've seen them at schools, jobs, grocery stores and etc. The Red Cross as in organization does a great job to reach their main goal, and that's helping others. 5 stars!! kuddos
