We flew with American Airlines to New York which was about a 8 hour flight with the time difference and it was very pleasant. Nice flight attendants and a great pilot.
American is a trusted airline. They have been around forever, offer very competitive prices and deliver quality service. I always look to American first when traveling.
I had zero problems with this company! Literally, the only negative I could gather would be the flight attendants aren't very friendly, but are any? Haha ;) We missed our flight due to a late connecting flight when we were in Chicago... Those ladies did everything in their power to get us to our destination that same day... They succeeded! And gave us $20 in food credits to use anywhere. Highly recommend...regardless of the drama you see on the news!
I just got back from a trip to Colorado where I took multiple American Airlines flights. I have to say that they have some of the sweetest flight attendants I've ever met. I also really enjoyed using the American Airlines App that allowed me to check in to my flight even from a remote ranch without cell phone service or any kind of computer. When it came time to board I just pulled up my bar code, and went through with ease.
American airlines tends to be an airline that I travel on a lot, based on the fact that they are the only airline that goes to my hometown. Usually the customer service is good, but could be much better. I've had several instances where I felt my canceled flight was looked upon as if we were the inconvenience.
Last time I flew AA, my flight was delayed for EIGHT hours. We were stuck in the airport with a screaming baby and no decent re route options. All they gave us for our trouble was a meal voucher. Good thing they did too, because there was no food on our flight, which was a four hour flight during dinner time.
I travel about 3x a month for work internationally. I'm a Platinum member on AA, so the perks are pretty great. The customer service is usually outstanding, but I did have an awful experience with one agent two weeks ago. I will continue to use AA, of course, but that wasn't great. I continue to book AA for all travel, including for all of my employees. We spend about 100k a year on AA, and so far they've been pretty stellar.
I fear flying so AA is the only one that makes me feel safer (it's psychological). I have flown with them for many years. But recently they changed the Advantage program and the changes are only favorable for business Travellers. Besides that, if you need a seat with more leg room, you need to pay a hefty price or $150 per person each way for international travel. This year, I am thinking of flying with Norwegian instead
American Airlines is one of the best airline company out there. They really care about the customer and meeting their every need. I once checked in my bag and sadly, the bag was broken when I received it. However, I filed a complaint and sent them pictures and instead of just repairing the bag they gave me money to compensate for the bag and I was able to purchase a brand new one!! Always travel with American Airlines. Great prices, always able to find flights. The only thing is that plane food is always awful and my husband has always end up in the hospital after eating it. EVERY TIME. Other than that, eat at the airport, carry your own snacks, stick to packaged food and enjoy your flight.
