I have just had so many awful experiences with American airlines. Travel is never easy and there will be issues with any airline, but the things you can control like customer service and airline policy need to be re thought.
Wish they had better snacks. The airplanes are normally freezing but my last flight they had really good service but a terrible landing. I normally try other airlines since they seem to be cheaper. Overall it’s a good option.
American Airlines has been fine for me, but I rarely use it because it almost never has the cheapest flight options for me. There is nothing compelling about it that would make me pay more and choose it over another airline.
For a while American Airlines is what I was flying most as a young adult. It was usually cheaper. I guess you get what you pay for. I've been on a couple of flights where the pilot has scared me to death. Before we got on the plane, they told us they had issues with it as it was coming in so we were backed up because of that. We got a second plane and the second plane on the run way, the right engine wouldn't start. Most people are okay with knowing this information, however, people who have anxiety already on flights, this makes it worse. There was another experience with a flight attendant who was very rude to everyone prior to getting on the plane. It amazed me. For me, planes that run well and just being nice to others are very important over leg room, or snacks. Hopefully they can redeem themselves.
I had a flight come up last minute and I was afraid that I wasn't gonna be able to find a flight I was able to find one with the appropriate times and also a great amount
I personally don't like American Airlines. I have flown a few times with them in the past and it was satisfactory until I used it last year to travel to Europe and it wasn't accommodating at all. Very disorganized and the the personnel wasn't very helpful. my seats were taken by a different passenger and I had to seat in a different seat from my husband and they stewards didn't do much to help in the situation. I literally had to argue over my seat with the passenger and let him know that it was my seat eventually I got to seat with my husband. I didn't like that I had to fight for my seat and I didn't receive any help whatsoever. If I can avoid flying with American Airlines it would be wonderful but If there's no other choice than I guess I have to deal with it and hope is not as bad as my last experience.
The flight I took was okay. There wasn't anything special about it, just a mode of transportation. I thought maybe they could have upgraded their seats and have better choice of entertainment but for the price I can't really complain.
This is one of the best airlines I have ever flown with. I have family that lives halfway across the country so I fly a lot. One time the plane had a tv on every seat.
My husband's mother who is dealing with the onset of memory problems needed help with a gate change at the ticket counter. My husband called ahead of time to make sure they had someone available to direct her to the correct gate. Remember what I said, onset of memory problems, not full blown dementia. She just needed someone to tell her which gate. The customer service rep that waited on him was rude, kept telling him she needed a wheelchair and was basically trying to cut him off the entire conversation. When she thought he hung up the phone, she was heard in the background saying: "AMERICAN AIRLINES, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE BABYSITTER AIRLINES".. It has been reported but, this has been enough for me to avoid this airline like the plague. I hope that horrible woman has her bad juju returned to her in spades. To top it off, what a way to represent the United States!!! My mother in law is from overseas, she did not need this flippant, cruel backlash for just asking for a help.
They have great customer service! The people ( including the pilot) were super friendly and seemed to enjoy their job and meeting the new people boarding the plane
