I feel I was forced to purchase premium seats ($185) because there was no available regular seats available to choose from to guarantee me a seat. I would have chosen any regular seat to try to keep my cost as low as possible. When I contacted the airline they informed me that I would have been assigned one of those premium seats for free if I would not have already paid for it. I'm sorry but I do not want to take a chance of getting bumped from a flight because I did not have an assigned seat

American Airlines planes can very quickly. On the first 6 hour flight of a round trip, we had personal TVs and many options for movies. On the return trip, there were no TVs and outdated and uncomfortable seats. A friend I was travelling with had a very difficult time with customer service trying to change her flight, but I have not personally had an issue.

I have been flying American Airlines for years. I take on average 10+ flights a year. Although I do not think you get enough traveler advantage points per flights (I have still not received enough points for a free flight). I do love this company. My grandma recently went into the hospital and I was unable to make a flight, the people on the phone said I had to take the flight as a loss, so I wrote a letter. Costumer service apologized and actually gave me flight credit for the price of the flight! Amazing!

American Airlines is usually a great experience and honestly, it is my go to. The only negative experience was last year, when I booked a last minute trip to Europe (less than 24 hours is advance) and wasn’t able to eat on the plane because I have a gluten allergy and they had no options for me. They are a great airline to fly with but I highly recommend to cover your bases if you have a dietary need like I do. You can always call ahead of time and make sure they have meals on board for you!

Hate this company and their lack of support for mothers! I had to fly alone with 2 babies and I heard 8 employees over the corse of my trip say how sad it was I was a single mom... and NOT OFFER TO HELP! First off I’m married and my husband had to drive our stuff across country and second I would have loved help moving a car seat and two babies without a stroller because they told me I couldn’t check at the door... which you can the employees I worked with were just horrid! Never again!!!

They my favorite airline to travel. The majority of the time flights are delayed, late or canceled last minute. The attendants have all been courteous. That does mean a lot. However continual cancellations and delays have me always have me check alternatives first.

It's not a terrible airline. I've used worse. They did however lose my boyfriend's bag (but not mine) when we switched from american to a United flight. The staff were not helpful. We were told by one person they had our bag and called bag countless times (the number the provided us did not work) for weeks and couldn't get ahold of anyone that would help. They kept saying they couldn't find his bag when we literally had a voicemail from one of their employees saying they had it. So frustrating.

Lost luggage. Flights cancelled. No compensation. Arrived to the US from our European vacation 3 days later than expected. No compensation whatsoever. We were only put in a hotel, without bags for 3 days.

This is a good airline. It's not too expensive. I've only ever flown in an American eagle so they didn't have outlets, wifi, or entertainment services. Those are smaller planes and they're overhead bins get full so fast and you have to check your bags at the last minute, but they don't charge you for that. Over all other than delays and things that happen, good airline.

If I could I would rate American Airlines a ZERO. Travelling to Mexico, our flight got delayed and then we got stuck on our stopover for a night and they didnt even accomodate us to free hotel to stay. What kind of airline is that! It wasnt our fault that the flight got delayed due to weather. They didnt even care when we tried to complain. Even when I filed a complaint on the phone AND online all theu could say was sorry it was out of our control too
