So I just got an Amazon Fire Stick, and does it have to be plugged into the wall and the TV to work? I thought it just had to be plugged into the tv?

It does have to be plugged into a power source as well as the TV. Companies make adapters that have a little transformer in them so you can use the usb port on your TV (if it has one) to power the stick. If you use the cord that came with the stick that doesn't have the transformer it won't consistently power the stick (I know from experience) and you will eventually have issues. The little charger cords only cost like $15 on amazon too. Well worth it.

Yes it needs to be plugged into the TV and wall. It needs a power source in order to use it.

It needs to be plugged into power to work. Some tvs have a usb port built in to run it, otherwise it comes with a power cable that can plug in to the tv.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've left mine plugged into the wall because that's the only way it seems to work.
