I would love to know how these hotels compare to other chains. Any experience?

I prefer a classic hotel, not a boutique hotel. The one I stayed in was unique, but not always in a good way.

They're more unique than normal hotel chains. The one I went to near Los Angeles had a bar area and cafe in the lobby. The rooms were nicely decorated and the bathroom had a glass vessel sink and nice stall shower.

Just as good if not better because of how much space you get for the price

Very different from other hotels. It's decorated so uniquely! Definitely chose aloft over other chains!

I would go to aloft over those places, they just have better service and such a different set up that if I'm on vacation i want it to be different.

Love!!! Great, more luxurious feel for comparable rate to like a Marriott, holiday inn, etc.

They are much more funky and unique. They fit a young self sufficient traveler well. It is not the place if you will need concierge service or are a particularly needy traveler. There is usually just one person working in the lobby serving as front desk agent, phone operator and food and beverage sales clerk.

They tend to be a more young and trendy hotel... We have had good serive at them and the lobby's are always really cool... If you don't have kids and want to experience something besides the cookie cutter hotel I would recommend... However if your staying in a location that has a Drury Hotel chain I recommend them first... Great happy hours and tons of free benefits
