I was 38 when I had a huge polyp removed that would have turned into cancer and probably ended up like my Dad. Thankfully I got it in time. It’s an easy, painless test and can save your life. ❤️ Yesterday I started the day hearing about a wonderful man in our town who lost his life to colon cancer at just about the same age my Dad was in 2004 when he passed away from the same cancer. Just 47 years old. I cried reading her post about him, remembering how difficult that time was in my life. I got the girls on the bus and drove to the store to grab a few things, still wrapped up in my thoughts of him and my Dad. After, I turned towards the shop to go open it up. As I put my blinker on to turn into the shop, I was thinking about his partner and his daughter, wondering how they were doing today, and my Dad and how in 3 days it will be 19 years since he passed. At the same exact time, coming in the other direction was a car with their blinker on to turn into the shop. I let them pull in and after parking realized it was this man’s partner and her friend. I burst into tears and so did she and we talked for a long time about the way life is, how hard it is when you have to let go and how special it was that she was able to be by his side the whole time. She is such a strong woman and I can’t imagine the pain she is feeling. I still can’t believe she pulled in at that very moment. We aren’t close friends, I never run into her normally and only really know her through the delicious food she serves in her cafe and quick two minute conversations. The shop wasn’t open but they pulled in anyway. I was later than I normally am and would have missed her on a normal day if I hadn’t run to the store. I was able to give her a baby jade plant to hang in her house by his chair. I’m just blown away that at the very moment I was thinking of her, she pulled in. Nothing is a coincidence. This little shop put me in just the right place at the right time. This huge jade plant has given me so many little plant babies and it’s been fun watching them grow over the last six months. One will now grow with her as she moves through grief and I am forever going to remember this moment. ❤️
