This is a 5 out of 5! I love using this as a shampoo and it doesn’t strip my natural oil. I got tons of baby hairs after a few weeks of using this and no hair falling out as much as I did in some shampoos. I also use this for shaving! Totally recommend this!

In search of all natural soap products I came across Alaffia’s African black soap. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was pleasantly impressed by the product. It offers a variety of cleansing options and I found it lathers best on a loofah or exfoliating wash towel. IMO it didn’t lather as well on a washcloth. Once I was done testing it as a body wash I tried it as a shampoo for my locs. The lather was great as you can see from my images and my hair was CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! It strips the oil from your hair so I don’t recommend using it often if you’re a natural hair girlie and you definitely want to condition your hair after using it. The product has essential oils in it so I be careful not to get it in your eyes, like I did LOL. Very happy with my purchase and will continue to purchase from this brand.

I've been using this product on my scalp to help with my absurdly dry skin. It seems to have helped - I really like the lack of scent and versatility of this product.
