Absolutely love this room spray from Aesop. It smells fresh and clean but still has a very present and noticeable scent. It actually lasts a bit and doesn’t dissipate in 10min like many other room fragrances do. It isn’t allergy inducing and is safe around pets and kids!!

I have a confession to make: I buy my home fragrances blind. Partly because I’m a lazy bum — clicking 'order' is way easier than the whole ordeal of going to the store and facing sales assistants. But mostly because in-store testing is always a sensory blur; how can you truly appreciate a scent when it’s fighting for attention with a dozen others in the air? So, I live in the reviews. I read everything, trying to picture the scent before it even arrives. I want to know what the nose actually experiences. And yet, it’s rare to find descriptions that go beyond the usual 'heavenly' or 'amazing.' This review is for anyone like me, who craves the details. To my nose, Olous isn’t about 'greenery' at all. There’s no crisp snap of a broken stem, no astringent bitterness of grass crushed between palms, and none of the freshness of a newly plucked leaf. Galbanum feels only as a faint bitterness. As for the grapefruit, I catch not the pulp, but rather the thick, oily rind spraying its essential oils and those bitter white membranes. Fragrance is subjective, of course, but for me, this scent is apothecary and berry-forward 🍃🫐 It conjures the workshop of a village herbalist: bundles of dry herbs hanging to cure in a shadowy wooden pantry, mingling with the scent of crushed, tart forest berries — lingonberries, cranberries, and black chokeberries. The closest comparison? A slightly fermented cranberry juice, brightened with a dry, bitter tonic. It’s at once fresh and dry, airy and ethereal. It feels particularly at home in a bathroom, where a little humidity lets the scent bloom. At its price point, the 100 ml bottle is a splurge, but it’s surprisingly potent. Just two or three spritzes fill a small bathroom almost instantly. Longevity, however, is fleeting: the intensity subsides after just twenty minutes, leaving only delicate echoes by the hour mark. The mist isn’t the finest — the nozzle produces a heavy cloud with distinct droplets that settle as tiny, tacky, oily spots. If your ceramic tiles are precious, mist over a forgiving surface like wood, which wipes clean easily. And don’t skip a good shake before spraying. In the end, it may just be a room spray, but it smells complex, sophisticated, and utterly expensive. It is every bit as indulgent as a fine eau de parfum. I’m obsessed 💚
