Developed by Treyarch and published by Activision, the game was released in 2008 for multiple gaming platforms. At its core, "World at War" delivers the fast-paced and adrenaline-fueled action that the Call of Duty series is known for, with tight gunplay, explosive set pieces, and intense firefights against both human and zombie enemies. Players take on the roles of soldiers from the United States Marine Corps and the Red Army as they fight to liberate key strategic locations and push back against the Axis powers. One of the standout features of "World at War" is its emphasis on brutality and realism, with visceral depictions of the horrors of war and the brutality of combat. From the chaos of the beach landings at Peleliu to the desperate defense of Stalingrad, the game pulls no punches in portraying the harsh realities of World War II, immersing players in a visceral and emotionally charged experience. The game's campaign mode offers a variety of missions and objectives, from stealthy infiltration missions behind enemy lines to all-out assaults on fortified enemy positions. With its dynamic AI, destructible environments, and varied mission objectives, the campaign provides plenty of excitement and challenge for players to sink their teeth into. In addition to its gripping single-player campaign, "World at War" also features a robust multiplayer mode that offers a variety of game modes, maps, and customization options for players to enjoy. Whether competing in traditional team-based matches or facing off against waves of undead in the popular Nazi Zombies mode, there's always something new and exciting to experience in "World at War's" multiplayer.
