Surprise! It's funny because my answer about my nationality was always "I'm kind of a mutt." Turns out, that's accurate..even more so than I thought. It was neat to see my results. I signed up during a Father's Day sale, so the price was good. A lot of great information. Recommend, if you're curious about where you come from.
Not as descriptive as Ancestry with the heritage breakdown, but I love that they go more into the genetics with potential genetic health risks and if you could potentially be a carrier for certain diseases. I do like that they are constantly updating information, so you can continually find out new information about your DNA.
It was an amazing experience to try 23 and me. I was so curious to know where my DNA came from. they shipped the Box very fast and you send your sample (saliva) to them and it took about two weeks to see my results. It was kinda of expensive but, worth it to see your family and where you actually from.
This service is just the coolest thing ever. It is amazing to see where we come from and all the different percentages of cultures and ethnicities I didn’t know I had in my family tree. I highly recommend this service to everyone. My parents who are Italian immigrants absolutely loved submitting and getting their results.
It took a lot longer then I expected to get my results back but when I did it was great to have a color coordinated map that showed me where my ancestors are from and how far back the generations go. I also love the fact (if you approve) they will connect you with people that share the same dna as you! It is worth the $99!
Good product! Some of my family did the Ancestry only portion - it seems pretty accurate! Great way to download raw DNA data for checking on health stuff. I will say - ancestry isn't as broken down as AncestryDNA is - if that's what you're looking for. Hard to say which is more accurate - but this is still a good option!
Sooo cool! I learned exactly where my family was from and things that I'm susceptible to due to my genetics from this DNA test. I think their cheapest package is $99 which is pretty affordable if you have the extra cash and have an interest in learning more about yourself and your family, I would absolutely recommend!
The entire sample process was well designed for convenience and the results seemed approximately as expected heritage-wise. I would like to see more health traits in the future. I also like the options to help participate in additional research and felt that privacy was a well maintained priority throughout the process.
While I am still waiting on the results of my DNA testing kit the kit itself was very easy to use and mail out to the company. While the price of the kit is a little pricey it is still on par with other sites like ancestry.com and even going above and beyond to be able to provide health reports instead of just ancestry.
Loved the app and how user friendly it was. Was super surprised at my results. Was a little expensive but I waited for the holiday special whoch they has a discount. It is very specific in origin I was able to get 4 kits. I would highly recommend to those whom wamt to connect with relatives they never knew they had.
Q & A
Is really worth the money ?
Is there anyway I could get this for free and review it? I have heard nothing but good things!
Always wanted to try one of these similar products....worth it?
Has anyone tried their DNA tests? How does it compare to AncestryDNA? Do you get the ancestry analysis along with the breakdown of genetic predispositions (more likely to need more sleep, have curly hair, like coffee, be good at running, etc) or is it one or the other?
What are your personal experiences?
