Review for Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy - 3 months ago
Review for: Stretch Marks Therapy 5.29 oz more...
I'm in a combination situation of both needing something to help prevent future stretch marks, and needing something that can help minimize those I already have. I began getting stretch marks in high school, and at the time, Mederma was one of the few brands available that offered something that claimed to lighten existing stretch marks. I was happy to try it out then, and have given it a go several times since - but I have yet to really like the experience.
First, I've never liked the smell. Maybe that's just me personally but I think it smells like medicine and that bugs me, especially since I have stretch marks on the inside of my elbows (what a terrible place to get them, huh) and I feel like when I use it, I can smell it CONSTANTLY.
Second, it takes forever to absorb and feels oily to me. I hate sensations like that, and although I realize that it isn't exactly like a traditional lotion, I'd love something that acts more like one in the amount of time it takes for it to soak in. I could definitely do without the oily factor either way; that bugs me, especially between skin and clothes.
Last, I just don't feel like it works as well as some other more natural options. I acknowledge fully that actually getting rid of stretch marks - or making them less visible - is definitely harder than preventing them. I never expected Mederma, or any other product for that matter, to fully get rid of any visible stretch marks within a week or two. I know that's unreasonable. But I DON'T think it's unreasonable to use a product to its specification, see some people who have REMARKABLE luck with it, and then see no real improvement in over a year of use. That's a lot of money to invest in a product that didn't work for me, and while I'm disappointed, I've tried a few other things that I found did work and have stuck with those instead.
Review for Dove White Beauty Bar - 3 months, 1 week ago
This is a pretty straightforward, run of the mill soap. I like Dove because it's never over-scented and is always pretty moisturizing, even if it isn't specifically a type meant to be super moisture-rich. This isn't spectacular but is very much the typical bar soap you'd expect, without the weird film that some bar soaps leave. It has a pleasant scent and washes off quickly and easily, and does seem to moisturize at least a little. It's a good soap, straightforward and pleasant.

Review for Starbucks Doubleshot Energy Coffee Drink Mocha - 3 months, 1 week ago
Review for: Coffee Drink 15 fl oz; 443 ml, Coffee Drink 15 oz, Coffee Drink 15 oz more...
This drink makes me legitimately angry because I like it that much. I usually avoid drinks with added protein unless that's specifically what I'm looking for, because most protein-added drinks are grainy and have a strange aftertaste that I just can't get over. This is none of the above: it's smooth, doesn't taste like anything other than coffee with milk and chocolate, and is good fresh from the fridge or right off the shelf (although, like most drinks of its kind, it definitely is better cold, it just is also good when not refrigerated). It isn't incredibly heavy so it feels like something you can drink any time of the day, and while it's meant to be an energy drink, I don't feel like it gives me the same uncomfortable high that other marketed energy drinks seem to. All in all, I really like this, and I've had it in place of my regular morning coffee more than once.
Review for Dove Baby Bar Rich Moisture - 3 months, 1 week ago
I'm really picky about what I use on my kids, especially as babies, as we all have sensitive skin or skin conditions. I'm always wary of trying new things, and tend to want to stick with what I know works without causing issues. That being said, a friend suggested I give the Baby Dove bar a try and I don't regret it for a moment. It's light, refreshing, and definitely moisturizes, unlike a lot of soaps that claim to moisturize and then don't. They don't leave a gross film and they aren't so horribly scented that you feel like all you can smell is baby powder, or baby fresh, or whatever weird scent companies keep choosing as representing the smell of babies. I really do like these and will probably continue to buy them!

Review for Dove Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar - 3 months, 1 week ago
I have sensitive skin, so I'm automatically one who needs something gentle. I'm usually not a bar soap gal, but this is actually one of the better ones I've tried. It's gentle and since it's unscented I don't need to worry about overpowering smells combining with my deodorant to make me smell especially funky. This washes well, doesn't leave me feeling filmy or "super squeaky" (not something I personally enjoy) and doesn't dry out my skin. Definitely one that I would recommend to anyone else with sensitive skin, skin conditions, or sensitivities to smells!

We have three cats and are in constant need of new ideas for treats and things to spice up their every day lives. We love having different treats to offer them to keep things different. Our cats LOVE these. While all three have very different personalities, they all think these are the best and never fail to enjoy them. My only complaint might be not having better access to bigger bags in retail stores; with three cats, we go through these fast enough that I'd love to be able to buy larger bags of them in the grocery stores, but unfortunately the choice just isn't there. Otherwise very happy with them and will definitely continue to get them.
Review for Herbal Essences Bourbon Manuka Honey Conditioner - 3 months, 1 week ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 2
I'm not normally one of those people that enjoys switching shampoos and conditioners on a whim, but I knew as soon as these arrived that I had to give it a go.
First, these SMELL FANTASTIC. I'm pretty sensitive to scents and I knew that if they were too strong I'd automatically dislike them. Herbal Essences is one of those brands I can trust, though, when it comes to knowing what combinations smell amazing and they've come through yet again.
Second, I LOVE these. Again, I've always trusted Herbal Essences but this conditioner is fantastic. My hair is frizzy and dry but even just the shampoo has made a huge difference just one wash in. The conditioner took this whole thing to a totally new level! I knew it would be fantastic but I honestly didn't think it would make such an extreme, noticeable difference that quickly. I had no idea this combination would end up being potentially the answer to my haircare needs (I am SUPER hands-off, probably need to do way more work than I do on my hair, etc) but here we are. I'm super happy, and next time I need to buy conditioner I know exactly what I'll be getting. My hair is so soft and shiny and I don't feel any buildup, which I've had problems with in the past with different conditioners (especially feeling as though they've left my hair slimy or greasy, which is just gross). I love it!

Review for OGX® Renewing Argan Oil Of Morocco Shampoo - 1 year, 3 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 2
I have really dry hair. Not by choice, mind you, but because a few years back I went through this absolutely stupid phase where I completely mistreated my poor hair, and bounced between bleaching it (I have very dark brown hair) and using outlandish colors (that I still love and would gladly use again). I wasn't good to it between treatments, though, and never conditioned or used pretty much anything to try to ensure that my hair didn't suffer and effectively fry. The ends were mutilated, it was just a disaster. Everybody said to try argan oil to fix the damage, or at least prevent more, but I wasn't sure. I'm not good with hair care routines to begin with, and adding in an extra step of trying to drag oil through my hair didn't sound appealing.
This stuff is fantastic, though, and a perfect alternative to using oils that I might otherwise forget to use, or downright ignore because it's an extra step for someone who is all about speed and ease. It smells fantastic and leaves my hair softer than I'm used to. It helps repair some of the damage done and best of all I can't forget it!

Review for SunChips® Original Multigrain Chips - 1 year, 3 months ago
Foodie Expert Level 1
"Moooooom! We're out of CHIPS!"
Oh my goodness. I know, child, I know. Problem is that, if we're being honest, I've been putting it off. I'm tired of dropping money on greasy slices of deep fried potato that's slathered in enough salt to meet your sodium requirements for the next decade. I'm tired of knowing that in a single handful of crumbling starch bits, my kids might as well have downed an entire bottle of oil. It's gross. So I'm sorry, my darling, but I'm done with chips.
Except for these. There's something about seeing a bag of baked, lightly salted, whole grain chips that makes the whole thing seem.. not as bad. I can forgive a snack or a side item when it doesn't leave greasy hands and piles of salt behind.
My picky kids will eat these. I think that says a lot, don't you?
