Review for: Dior Diorshow Backstage Mascara more...
I received this for review in an Influenster Voxbox.

I'm naturally blessed with dark, full, long lashes, so most mascaras make my lashes look lovely. This is no exception. I love how fanned out my lashes look with this mascara, and I don't experience any smudging or flaking.

I love the big brush! The formula is not too wet or too dry, so I don't get it all over my eyes, yet it easily transfers from brush to lashes.

I only give this 4 stars because while it is a 5 star mascara in my opinion, most mascaras are 5 stars for me. It's difficult for a mascara to not work for me. For the price, I don't think I'm capable of recommending this to everyone because my frame of reference is so different from someone with shorter lashes.

Review for Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette - 3 weeks, 3 days ago

I'm going to be honest, I really like this highlighter palette. I did receive this in an Influenster Voxbox for review.

The shades are pressed hard into the palette, so with a brush and a light hand, it's really easy to make all the shades work. I was nervous seeing three dark tones in the palette with my porcelain skin, but it 's so easy to sheer out the darker tones. I like to dip into both the white and the pink to make a light pink highlight. These are shimmery, which I like. The sheerness/hard pressing of the powders makes it easy to avoid a streak of white highlight that you can get with other highlights on the market.

The pink and dark bronze shades are labelled as blushes, but the shades are way too shimmer to be used in that way. They're better applied lightly as highlights or with a wet brush/finger as metallic eyeshadows.

If you don't like a shimmery highlight, you probably won't like this. It's also quite expensive, and I did not pay for this, so this isn't a need if it isn't in your budget. If you have the means to get it and it won't require saving up, I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Review for: 1N - 1 NEUTRAL - FAIR SKIN WITH NEUTRAL UNDERTONES more...
I just received this for review in an Infuenster Voxbox, so consider this more of a first impression (I've only used it a few times) than a full on review. I will edit this review as I use it more.

For reference: I have fair, unreasonably oily, acne prone skin with hyperpigmentation.

I find this foundation is too sheer for my liking. I have a lot to cover up in terms of acne and scarring, and I required two or three layers to deal with just the redness/flush on my cheeks. However, because it is so light, it does not look cakey upon application, even after a few layers. So the coverage can be a pro and a con.

This foundation is also quiet glowy. When I applied it with an It Cosmetics flat top foundation brush, it straight up looked wet on my skin for quite a few minutes. I did not experience this with a brush. However, with a mattifying primer and powder, I do not feel it slips off my face in the cold New York winter. I would not select this for the summer months if you have oily skin, but this would look stunning on normal to dry skin.

This foundation is also heavily scented like a perfume, but I happen to really enjoy the scent, so I don't mind.

Overall, it's clear that this foundation is a high-quality foundation. I just don't think it suits my specific skin needs.

(I have shade 1N, which has perfect undertones, but is far too dark. I think 0N would still be too dark on me. Match yourself in store if you can. I picked 1N thinking it might even be light on me, since the swatches made 0N look essentially white.)

Review for Crest Gum & Enamel Repair Intensive Clean Toothpaste - 1 month, 2 weeks ago

Purchased at: Walgreens
I’ve never come across a toothpaste I didn’t like, so keep that in mind. I love how this toothpaste almost lathers; it doesn’t stay gel-like in the same way other toothpastes can. Because of this, it spreads around the mouth really easily so my whole mouth feels clean. It doesn’t taste as minty as I’d like, however. I did receive this for free in an Influenster Voxbox.
Review for Live Clean® Coconut Milk Moisturizing Body Lotion - 5 months, 1 week ago

(Sent to me for free in an Influenster Voxbox) I actually really like this lotion. I like the pump style packaging because the bottle doesn’t slip out of my hand as I’m trying to squeeze product out. The scent is great. It starts out coconut and then fades into the Korres fig body butter from 2012. It’s awesome.

I don’t think this is the most moisturizing lotion. It soaks in pretty well, but my skin isn’t too dry so I don’t know if this would work for someone with really dry, ashy skin.

I also am not sure about the claims of this being eco friendly. their website doesn’t give specifics of where and how the ingredients are sourced, so I can’t verify if they’re actually eco friendly or if they’re marketing that to cater to the environmentally conscious community.

Overall, a nice scented lotion that soaks in quickly and doesn’t leave me greasy. Would recommend.

Review for Swisspers 100% Cotton Makeup Removal Wipes - 5 months, 1 week ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
These did a pretty solid job taking my makeup off. I usually use a cleansing oil because it works the best, but these wipes were generally pretty wet and didn’t require three wipes to get my makeup off. They did sting my eyes, however. They didn’t tug at my eyes, but they stung. I’ll keep these around for when I’m too tired to use a cleansing oil, but for someone who uses makeup wipes religiously, these may not be your A number 1 because of the eye stinging.

These were sent to me in an Influenster voxbox!
Review for Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Foam Conditioner - 5 months, 2 weeks ago

I'm very grateful to Influenster for sending this to me in a Voxbox for review.

I give this a two star rating, not because the product isn't good, but because I'm really not the target demographic for this, so it just didn't work for me.

I have thick, dry, wavy-curly hair. My curl pattern is a 2c/3a, and my hair is LONG. Past my bust, down my back long. I heat style occasionally, I've had a gloss color put in once, but overall, I do not have processed hair.

When I saw this product provided light moisture and wouldn't weigh down hair, I thought, "Well, that'd be great it I had thin hair that could be weighed down." I normally drench my hair in thick conditioner and hair masks to avoid getting dry hair. I figured I would give this a shot since it also claims to detangle. Well my hair is incredibly tangly, so I had some hopes!

I found it didn't really detangle my hair, or give much moisture. I'm pleased that my hair wasn't drier than when I started--this product seemed to maintain the level of moisture in my hair. I used this a few times with my normal routine just to make sure I knew how it functioned.

If you have thick hair like mine, this might be nice for after the gym when you just want to wash your body and scalp without doing a full shampoo, deep-condition, hair mask regimen. If you have thinner hair, this may really work for you!

Additionally, it smells amazing.

Review for ORIGINS DR. ANDREW WEIL For ORIGINS™ Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion - 7 months, 3 weeks ago

I’m so glad Influenster sent me this for free in a VoxBox, because I never would have thought to try this myself. For what this is and how I use it, the product is actually really good. My skin is incredibly oily and acne prone, so I’ve been loving this as a lightweight moisturizer. It comes out of the bottle basically as herb-scented water, and I use my hands to pat it into my face. Because the product is water thin, it absorbs into my face so quickly and doesn’t leave any kind of residue or feel heavy. The box claims it “leaves the skin calm, comfortable, hydrated.” I don’t have sensitive skin, so I don’t know about calm, but I can say it hasn’t aggravated my acne. My skin is usually very rosy, and this product hasn’t helped with my redness, though. Comfortable and hydrated for sure. I thought I read somewhere that this can be used as a pre-moisturizer or pre-serum step, but for this price, that’s a bit of a stretch.

Overall, this is a solid lightweight moisturizer for oily skin. I can’t imagine this becoming a favorite for people with dry skin who need more moisture, but for my purposes, I quite enjoy it.

Review for HUDA BEAUTY Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette - 9 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
Review for: Warm Brown more...
If you want to try Huda Beauty eyeshadows, or try one of these smaller palettes from Huda, don't go for this one. The Mauve Obsessions palette is much better than this one.

Overall, I like the color scheme. Warm browns are very on trend right now, and this palette definitely encompasses the in-style shades. The selection of each color, however, does not really lend itself to being the most versatile palette.
I myself have very fair skin. I can really only make one everyday look, by using the butter shade all over the lid and highlight (where it is far too yellow for my skin), the tan shade in the transition, and the dark brown or dark sienna shade in the crease and outer V. That's really all that's available tome for that. And the dark brown is patchy! It's hard to get even pigmentation from it. The other mattes (the red, raw sienna, dark peach, and plum) are all good quality, but they are all too dark to be a transition/blending shade and too light to be a crease/outer V shade on my skin tone. Because the red is more of a statement shade, I can make it work on the lid or blending, but only for a dramatic eye look. I can imagine that on medium skin tones, this palette would be filled with mostly transition shades, and deeper skin tones might have a hard time finding any contrast within the shades to make dimension.

The quality of the shadow is pretty good. The dark brown is patchy, but the rest of the mattes are good quality. They do creat a ton of fallout, even if you tap your brush, so maybe do the eyes first. I don't deduct points for fallout personally, because I don't really mind it so much.
The center gold shade, however, is just terrible. It swatched so amazingly that I could not WAIT to get it on my eyes. I was expecting a smooth, metallic bronze gold. I dipped my flat shader brush (best for picking up shadows and packing them on), and...nothing. Literally no shadow got onto my lid. I went back and really dug the brush into the shade. Still, it wouldn't go onto my lid! Even over a sticky primer. So, I figured I'd use my finger. It got on, but it was hard to control and ended up looking really sloppy. Also, the shade looked much darker and more orange on my eyes that in the pan or in the swatch, so I had to take it off and start over with the lid.

This palette, in my opinion, is a companion palette to my other eyeshadows. If I'm doing a look with a different palette and I need to pull in a warm neutral, then I would reach for this. But making a look with just this palette is really difficult, and for $28, I expect more.
