Review for KETTLE BRAND® Potato Chips Chile Verde - 3 months, 1 week ago

I am already a fan of Kettle Brand chips, but I usually go for original for just a good salty, crunchy snack, or occasionally something like BBQ. I wouldn't have picked these up at the store, but when I got them in the Gents VoxBox and tried them I thought they were pretty tasty. They do actually taste like chile verde, and there isn't an overwhelming spiciness or flavor overload that would make them offputting to me. I feel like these would make good picnic chips.

Review for Barbasol® Ultra 6 Plus Razor - 3 months, 3 weeks ago
I normally shave with double-blade disposable razors, but I've tried a few with 5+ blades here and there. On the positive side, the flexible head of this razor is nice. However, I tend to find large razor heads less maneuverable on certain parts of my face (e.g., upper lip) than just the plain old disposables, and I have a harder time getting a close shave with this 6-blade razor. It's not that it's a bad razor, it just requires a different shaving technique and I don't personally prefer it.

Review for Bed Head for Men by TIGI Matte Separation™ Workable Wax - 4 months, 2 weeks ago
Before I got this product in a VoxBox, I had only tried a generic styling paste (vs. wax). I use it mainly to battle some inconveniently located cowlicks vs. holding a complicated hairstyle, but this product works well and has a stronger hold than the styling paste. It's thick and smells more like a salon-quality hair product. It's easy to either comb or hand-style, and it's not too shiny like a pomade.

Review for Barbasol® Sensitive Skin Thick & Rich Shaving Cream - 4 months, 2 weeks ago
I usually use shave gels for shaving my face, so this product from a VoxBox was interesting to try. I liked the barely noticeable scent, and it did not irritate my skin at all. It doesn't have as much lather and doesn't feel as thick as a shave gel, so I didn't know if I was using enough at first, but my skin didn't get irritated.

I received this product for free for testing purposes.
Review for JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chase Mobile - 7 months, 3 weeks ago
The Chase Mobile app has improved a lot over time. The main positive with using this is the ability to deposit checks to my checking account remotely, so it provides functionality beyond just checking your account balances. My only complaint about the mobile app really is some of the notification settings.
I received a voucher for a free SmartMade meal with my TastyVoxBox. I selected this one because I haven't eaten a turkey frozen meal in like 10 years and I was curious given that I've noticed a huge increase in the quality of frozen meals lately. This was not the best frozen meal I've had, but it was pretty decent. The portion size was good for my normal appetite on a non-active day. The turkey is a little bit on the salty side, but the texture is good- it's not overly dry or rubbery and the outside is crusted with bread crumbs or batter. The green beans are not mushy, and I really liked the sweet potatoes with glaze. My major (silly) complaint is that my favorite way to eat turkey and vegetable sides isn't "mix them all together with the same sauce" but you kind of have to do that to get the meal to cook evenly. This variety is a little on the uninteresting side, but it's certainly better than the turkey dinner tv dinner options I had growing up!

Review for Country Crock® Original - 11 months, 1 week ago

I grew up eating Country Crock spread instead of butter, so this is the product that comes to mind when I think of margarine. I switched over to butter for baking when I moved out on my own, but I still like how this product tastes. I think it tastes really good for a non-dairy spread, and it definitely has the advantage over butter that it will spread nicely right out of the refrigerator. It also melts easily and you can substitute it for vegetable oils in certain recipes. I received a free voucher for this product from the Tasty VoxBox.

Review for Frank's RedHot® Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce - 11 months, 1 week ago

I enjoy the taste of spicy food but don't eat a lot of it because it can upset my stomach. As someone who prefers mild spice for flavor, Frank's Red Hot is a good sauce to have around in my fridge. It's spicy enough to be a hot sauce but it's not too overwhelming, and it has a nice tangy flavor to it. I don't use hot sauce a lot, but when I do I much prefer Frank's to Tobasco because I think it has a better underlying flavor. I got a bottle free with the Tasty VoxBox. I had tried it before, but it's always a good thing to have around in the fridge.

Review for SPLENDA® Naturals Stevia Sweetener - 11 months, 1 week ago
I received a sample of Splenda Naturals for free with the Tasty VoxBox. I'm not a regular user of no-calorie sweeteners because I usually think they are too sweet, I usually don't sweeten my beverages except occasionally with honey or 1/8tsp of regular sugar. I haven't had regular Splenda in a few years. So from that perspective, this product is too sweet for my tastes. I tried one packet in an iced coffee to review, and it's a little bit sweeter than I like, because most sweeteners are much sweeter than regular sugar. However, there isn't a weird bitter or overly artificial aftertaste. It tastes a lot like regular Splenda from what I remember. There was nothing bad about it, it's just not a product I personally have much use for.

Review for Kashi GOLEAN Dark Cocoa Power - 11 months, 4 weeks ago
I got this as a VoxBox sample, and I was excited to try it because I like a lot of Kashi products and I like dark chocolate shakes and a good source of plant protein would be nice. I smelled the powder before mixing it, and it smelled not even a little bit like chocolate, but I decided to go for it anyway. On the plus side, it blended really easily with cold 2% milk with just a whisk without any clumping, which is rare for a lot of powders. The texture was really quite thick afterwards, but at least it was smooth. On the negative side, it tasted terrible to me. Very bitter and weird, and it's not because it was dark chocolate flavored, I've been known to eat plain cacao nibs and 85% cacao super dark chocolate. I think it's probably the base plant protein powder that tastes bad. I couldn't finish the drink because it was bitter, and after just a few sips I felt like I needed to drink a ton of water.
