Review for: Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Quad Smoke
This palette was my first experience with Kat Von D's eyeshadows and let me just say, they rock. I already own the two Tartelette palettes, so I didn't feel like I needed the whole Shade and Light Eye palette, but these small quads had shades in them that I really felt like I didn't have in my collection. The black is a little crumbly for me, has a lot of fall out, but the white shade is actually really nice and my only wish is that it was more satin and less matte. The two mid shades, the grey and the cool brown are beautiful. I use the cool toned brown for tons of looks, even when I'm not using the other shades from this palette, so I'm glad its the biggest pan. Also, when used with a light hand, that brown shade is a very nice cheek contour for my skin tone. I love this little palette, the plastic packaging makes it feel safe to travel with and the set of colors makes it great for doing a full look without needing another shadow palette. I do wish there was at least one satin or shimmery shade instead of four straight mattes, but I suppose that's the whole point. I give it 4/5 and would definitely purchase another one.
I purchased this at my local Kmart and honestly, this product was surprisingly good. For a drugstore pigment palette, the colors are actually bright, but only really went used over a white base. The colors also created a lot of fall out and when you needed to get really good color impact, you had to pack it on with your fingers, using a brush got you absolutely no where. Unfortunately, you can't get this palette anymore because it was limited edition, but hopefully Wet and Wild with use this kind of pigmentation in all of their future products!
I received this product in my voxbox and I thought at first that maybe it was just an extra thing to go along with the special lipstick they sent. I'll admit, it took two applications to get ALL of the color off, but that was only because I used a shade of red that left a bit of a stain on the lips, but once I put on another pass of the Lip Color Remover, it all came off completely. I also tested this on two other liquid lipstick formulas: Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip and Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick. I used darker shades, let them dry and both came off after two applications, because of the staining. I only gave this product four stars because after I used it, I felt like I immediately needed lip balm. It's not moisturizing at all and it was a little concerning how dry my lips felt after removing the lipstick.
I received this product in a voxbox recently and let me tell you, they have definitely up-ed the formula. I bought this product ages ago, before the liquid lip hype began and remember loving it, but it came off as soon as I ate. That was probably four years ago now. When I received it in this box, I put it on and let me tell you something, I applied it at 1pm with my makeup, ran out the door and did an 8 hour work shift. I talk constantly, took a lunch break where I ate french fries and chicken nuggets, both greasy foods, drank from a straw, drank from a soda can. And the wear was MINIMAL. This product is incredible. I will note that little flakes of the color would come off on the straw, but it wasn't anything I was too upset about it. When I went to removed it at 12am, it was the same shade of red as when I put the lipstick on. My ONLY complaint with this lipstick is that I don't prefer a glossy looking lip, so I go ahead and just put the balm side on and then dab it with a tissue to take away some of the shine.
This is a really amazing eye primer and it goes on so well. I didn't feel like it covered up my eyelids pigmentation at all, which is not even really a huge problem for me, but I know for other people, that is an important element. It definitely does keep your eyeshadow on and it always keeps it from getting oily and creasing.
Eh, when I was going between three different primers, this is the one I would avoid using because to be honest, it just felt like I was putting random lotion on my face. It's not all that moisturizing, it didn't exactly fill in any pores or smooth over my skin.
This is my favorite out of all of the HASK brand conditioners. I religiously use this once a week to keep my hair soft and healthy since I'm constantly dying my hair over and over again. Using this along with the oil following afterward, means that my hair stays soft and silky.
I would buy this at Kmart whenever they have a buy one get one free sale! I have brightly colored hair and having bleached it in the past means that now it needs all the love I can give to it! This Argan Oil mask definitely helped my hair and is a great way to nourish it once a week without getting too oily.
My hair was so ridiculously soft after using this conditioner and of course, smelled like coconuts, so duh! How could I not love it! Not to mention, I'm all about a company that gives back and the fact that they donate water to villages in need means that I will definitely be repurchasing this item as soon as I need more conditioner in my life. I would recommend people definitely try it out for themselves, even if you have colored hair like I do, give it a chance!
As a plus size girl, I found this product super useful since I have big thigh that tend to get damp during the day just from sweat. The benefits of this product is that my thighs stayed dry and the smell wouldn't overpower my perfume, but it did cover up any odor that came about during the day.
