Of course I had to try out the raved about Wet n Wild Precious Petals and wow wow wow. As much as I keep buying, this is the only highlighter I have used every single day. I just can't bring myself to stop and test out any others. This is my personal dream highlighter. It is the precise color I want. It's a golden champagne and I mean just look at it- that is genuinely my dream highlight colour. The dream doesn't end there, this looks like a wet sheen! If you've been around you'll know that's what I'm always looking for and never find in highlighters, well this formula is so creamy and smooth that it gives me the sheen I want so badly! I've ordered a few of the other colours because I'm honestly blown away by this formula.
I've found one foundation that seems to fare the best against the heat and that's my L'Oreal Pro Matte. It's crazy to me because I never turn to matte bases, and I never thought I'd love one so much. But this formula is not heavy at all, it's very watery and blends so smoothly and feels completely weightless on the skin. It's the complete opposite of what I think of when I think of matte foundations. This lasts ages and ages on me without budging, even this is no match for the severe heat here so it will get very dewy by the end of the day but it lasts much better than anything else. So surprised to have loved this so much!
When I was shopping my stash and came across this Estée Lauder Daywear SPF 50 i thought it would be the perfect opportunity to start. I've been using it everyday since and honestly it's a must for me. I feel great knowing my skin is protected but more importantly, it's so hydrating and really minimizes the appearance of my texture somehow. I really love how it looks and how comfortable it feels under my makeup!
I've always loved a nude or white liner on my waterline. I just love how much it opens my eyes up and leaves my eye makeup looking fresh and bright. What I don't love, however, is the fact that whatever nude liner I apply completely disappears within an hour of wearing it or stings my eyes. Not ideal. So, I'm constantly on the search for one that works and I think I finally found it. Colourpop's Cry Baby Liner is the one, guys. Now, this isn't a nude it's a lavender but the makeup queen herself Lisa Eldridge recommended using lavender to brighten your eyes so I decided to give it a go. Without fail, this did not budge one bit for hours and hours. It glided on so smoothly and felt so comfortable. I'm honestly in shock at how amazingly this worked and I'm so ready to try out a bunch of other colors!
I've always eyed the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. I just figured that if I love the lip edition so much, maybe the face mask works as well? Well, I was right. I don't really use this as a mask, I use it as a daily night cream and I just love the texture. It's a gel-like formula that really sinks into the skin and my skin always feels so soft and hydrated every morning. Honestly, it's all I can do to not use this in the mornings too.
I'm constantly on the hunt for the perfect lippie in each category. The search for the dream orange-red has been constant, especially when summer was coming up. One that I decided to try out was the Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit in Flame of the Game and I'm so glad I did. I wore this whenever I could throughout August, it's just the perfect orange undertone for my skin tone. The formula lasted for ages and ages and felt pretty comfortable. I'm just so impressed by this considering the price point, definitely want to try out more shades.
For me to love a mascara, I just need it to make my lashes visible. That's a huge thing for me because normally they really aren't. Now, many have done that for me, but where this goes above and beyond is that it makes me look like I have amazing lashes. It gives such insane insane length that I cannot even describe, while separating my lashes and elongating each individual one to make my lashes look fluffier. It is actually magical and insane how well this works. I genuinely have not been able to bring myself to use any of my other mascaras, and the couple of times I tried I was extremely disappointed. Mascara that I used to swear by just did nothing for me, I really couldn't understand it.
I’d been seeing L’Oreal’s Hydra Genius range all over instagram for a while, and I’ve been in the market for some really intense hydration. I decided to not turn directly to The Ordinary like I usually do, and to try out another affordable option. I was obsessed with this from the first day. I woke up the next morning with my skin feeling soft as a baby’s bottom. I honestly haven’t had my skin feels this soft ever. I’ve started to use it before makeup as well and I just love how everything sits on it. Definitely a new holy grail moisturizer.
I picked up two shades; a true blue pink in Slide and a deep coral in Doozy. I was so excited for these, it seemed like they would fix the problems I had with the blotted lips. I was sorely mistaken. It really upsets me to say that these were an absolute fail. They applied beautifully, and instantly I was obsessed with how they looked. Then they dried… These dry so insanely crusty. They just completely cling onto your lips and dry them out. I tried these on days where my lips were insanely moist and supple and I’d still get the same results. They remind me of a really terrible liquid lipstick where it just all cracks and balls up instantly. The formula was just absolutely terrible. I tried to work with these so hard and I continue to try but within a few minutes I just have to wipe them off.
