Review for fresh Sweet As Sugar Lip Minis - 3 months, 3 weeks ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
Purchased at: Sephora
I got this set as a gift from my mom, and I really like it! The colors show up on my lips but aren't opaque or highly pigmented like lipstick; they're tinted lip balms basically. They're very hydrating and glossy, and I always reach for the one in my purse when my lips get dry. I don't always wear a lot of makeup, and I like these for a touch of color on my "natural" days. Overall I think this set makes a great gift. My only comment is that they aren't very long-lasting and need to be reapplied.

Review for LUSH Dark Angels Facial Cleanser - 3 months, 3 weeks ago

I will say that this product did make my dace feel super clean, but ultimately the texture was too gritty and rough for my skin. No matter how gently I used it, it felt like it was scratching up my face and left my skin really irritated. I would say if you have very oily skin and want something exfoliating, this is definitely worth trying. If you're like me and need something that isn't too abrasive, I would try something else.

Review for SheaMoisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Leave-In Treatment - 7 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
I love Shea Moisture as a brand, but I really don't think this works as an "all hair types" product as advertised. It smells absolutely delicious, but it actually made my fine, straight, tangle-prone hair frizzier somehow. My hair actually tangles more with this leave-in than it does with nothing, and it looks more messy and less smooth. It also feels unclean to the touch.. and mind you, I've misted it very gently onto damp hair and combed through. The two stars are because Shea Moisture is awesome and cruelty free, but this product isn't something I can continue to use.

Review for e.l.f. Cosmetics Flawless Finish Foundation - 8 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
For the price, this is honestly a pretty darn good foundation. It goes on smoothly, doesn't break me out, and offers pretty good (I'd say medium-high) coverage. It has also lasted me a surprisingly long time. My only qualms with it are that it never seems to fully set, and will smudge off on anything with the slightest touch. If you gently itch your face, you'll have product on your fingers and if you have to blow your nose, all the foundation there will come off on the tissue. It also gets pretty slick and shiny with moderate activity and doesn't stay matte at all.

Review for: Brioche more...
I purchased this in "Brioche" and I think it's a pretty good product overall, but with some flaws. First of all, I find it super drying on my lips. So much so that I really just can't use it as a lipstick, even in conjunction with a nourishing lip balm, because it seriously will take my lips from hydrated to parched in minutes, which I didn't expect since my experience with other Bite products has been the opposite. That's kind of a bummer because my main incentive for purchasing it was for the beautiful color as a lipstick. Secondly, I don't quite understand why it's sold in the shape of a lipstick when it doesn't apply well direct-to-skin at all and the packaging even specifies to use a brush or your finger. I think a little pot would make more sense as the packaging for this.
That being said, this product is easy to apply and goes on smoothly with a fingertip (I've found a finger to be easier and more effective at blending than a brush). I really appreciate the functionality of a multistick and I'll be hanging onto this for its usage as a beautiful blush! I have yet to try it as an eyeshadow but I have a feeling that with a good primer, it will make a beautiful and very pigmented shadow.

Review for Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm - 8 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
I got to try a sample of this as part of my birthday gift from Sephora, and I was pleasantly surprised at how nourishing and moisturizing it is! It feels great and makes my lips look plump and soft. It has a gentle sweet smell and taste to it.

I am kind of an ingredient scrutinizer, and this has an impressive and surprisingly clean ingredient list!

That being said, this product loses one star for being very overpriced. I am someone who uses a $72 facial oil and several other high-priced beauty products every day, so I really am willing to shell out money for products that are worth it in terms of ingredients and effectiveness. I'm a shameless spender, really. But even I can't quite justify paying $18 for a lip balm, even if it's great like this one. If it was in the $10-12 range, I'd totally be purchasing the full size after trying the sample, but I really don't feel that the effects and formulation of this product are worth the high price tag.

Review for Bite Beauty Agave Sugar Lip Scrub - 8 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
My review is based off my experience with a sample sized one that came in my Sephora birthday gift. I am used to using Lush lip scrubs or E.L.F. brown sugar lip scrub, so I'm accustomed to a pretty dense grit / concentration of exfoliant granules. This one was much more liquidy with less grains and I feel like I had to add a lot to my lips just to get any exfoliation going. It was gooey and syrupy and at first I thought "I may as well just be rubbing maple syrup into my lips" but when I washed it off, I was pleased that it came off easily and left my lips soft and very moisturized.

I don't have dry or sensitive lips, and for me $18 isn't worth a product with this thin a concentration of exfoliant. That is super pricy for any lip treatment IMO, but I don't have chapped lips often. If you have dry lips or sensitive skin, though, this would be a great, gentle and hydrating lip scrub for you! So while I won't be purchasing the full size, I would give this product a good recommendation for others with different lip care needs!

Review for COOLA Mineral Face SPF 30 Unscented Matte Tint Moisturizer - 8 months ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 1
I really wanted to review this product, because it's not quite what I expected it to be, but even better in a lot of ways!
First of all, the tint is very, very minimal. It goes on basically translucent, so I really wouldn't call it a BB cream in terms of coverage. It does minimize pores and even out skintone a little bit though, which I appreciate.
Second, this acts as the best primer I've ever used! My skin looked great today with this as my primer, a little concealer and just a tiny bit of liquid foundation on top. My friend commented that my skin looked super clear, but I actually have a small breakout on my chin that my concealer was able to hide way better than usual with this as my primer. For reference, I have used Too Faced primer (decent) and E.L.F primer (useless) before, and this product which isn't even marketed as a primer has blown them both out of the water.
Lastly, this is the best facial sunscreen I've ever used. Most products with SPF go on feeling greasy, make my skin shiny, or clog up my pores, but this goes on light and velvety and I really appreciate the sun protection.
Yes, this is pretty pricy and more than I'd usually like to spend on sunscreen, but it's vegan, cruelty-free, almost entirely natural, silky and light, an amazing primer, and looks and feels great, so I'd say it's worth it!

Review for: Glace more...
I received this in the "Glacé" color as part of my birthday reward from Sephora. I thought the color would wash out my pale skin for sure, but it actually looks really nice! It is a beigy pink but not so beige that it goes on pale. The formula goes on really smooth and lasts a lot longer than some of the other lip crayons I've used, and is less drying. It has kind of a sweet, chocolatey smell to it and tastes like sugar. It's not totally smudge-proof, but is a very good lip crayon overall
