Review for e.l.f. Eyeshadow "C" Brush - 2 weeks, 4 days ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
I think I've bought this specific brush about six or seven times- because it is that good and that affordable. It's a great shape for your crease and one of the first eyeshadow brushes I started out with. I think I've had one ELF brush fall apart out of all the brushes I've bought from them and I'm very pleased with the quality considering the price point!
Review for Origins Checks and Balances™ Frothy Face Wash - 3 weeks, 3 days ago

I've seen a lot of good reviews for this cleanser but it really really dried out my skin. It has a nice consistency and feels great when using, but it stripped pretty much all of my natural oils. I've tried it several times but I think this one just doesn't work for me.

This is a really nice powder that helps to add a bit of brightness and smooth texture at the same time. I purchased the travel size of this, which has lasted a long time and is perfect to have in my purse or small makeup bag. I'm curious to try out some of the other colors, but this one is great for fair skin with neutral undertones.

Review for Kate Somerville® ExfoliKate® Intensive Exfoliating Treatment - 3 weeks, 3 days ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
If you have sensitive skin, be careful with this product. It's definitely intense. It is a good exfoliator, but it's not the type of product I can use often. It's also very expensive and just doesn't do enough for me to justify the price. It probably would work better on less sensitive skin.
Review for La Mer Crème de la Mer - 3 weeks, 3 days ago

I go back and forth with this product. First, the price is tough to justify. I'm willing to spend money on quality skincare products, but when you look at the ingredients, it's just an emollient moisturizer. It does a very good job moisturizing, but doesn't do anything especially dramatic, especially considering the price. It's also very heavy, so you need to use it properly or it can be way too much. I do have several teeny jars of this that I've used and I generally like it. I also have a large Nivea Creme that cost roughly $7 that I think is just as good. No, it doesn't have stuff from ocean in it, but it works just as well. I actually like this type of moisturizer as a body lotion generally more than for the face, and the Nivea is perfect for that. If you're willing to deal with the price, it's a solid moisturizer, but I can justify spending that kind of money on a product much easier if that product really transforms your skin- like Good Genes or a high end retinol.

I've been using these (or the equivalent store brand) for years! These really work and you can see a difference within a few days. These are much better than some of the cheaper options that have waxy single use trays. You can get away with wearing these in public and they only give you a tiny lisp. The strips are really thin and pretty much invisible unless you're really close up. The only downside I've seen is they can make my teeth more sensitive. I'd definitely check with your dentist if you have sensitive teeth as these can make it much worse.
Review for e.l.f. Cosmetics Eyebrow Kit - 3 weeks, 3 days ago
Beauty Junkie Expert Level 4
This was my favorite brow product for so long! The first time I learned to fill in my eyebrows was with a powder and pomade kit from Mary Kay and this was the product I purchased to replace it. Now that I'm a bit more advance (read: obsessive) with my brows, I prefer a pencil as it is easier and I can get a more precise line with it. However, when I was a beginner and just starting to fill in my brows, this kit was great. It gives a super natural look and pretty much looks like your natural eyebrows but better. The way that I used it was to fill in my brows with the powder and slanted side of the brush. Then  I would coat the other side of the brush with the wax/pomade and use that to help stick stray hairs down and darken it up a bit. It's an easy way to do really natural, easy brows at a great price!

Review for Giorgio Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation - 3 weeks, 3 days ago

There is so much hype around this foundation that I was super excited to try it out. I got it during a Sephora sale after trying out several samples and getting a good color match. For whatever reason, I just could not get it to work for my skin. It seemed to emphasize texture and my pores no matter what primer I used or what I did skincare wise before applying it. I used a brush and a beauty blender and just couldn't get it to work. The packaging is nice and it seems to be a high quality product otherwise, but it just didn't work for my oily, textured skin. I've read that the L'Oreal Lumi foundation is a good dupe and I actually found that product to work BETTER for my skin. And it's about a 10th of the price! For high end foundation, I prefer the Lancome Teint Idole. It has a nice matte finish and is very forgiving on more textured skin. This foundation might be better if you have really smooth skin with smaller pores!

Review for Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer - 3 weeks, 3 days ago

I have oily skin and need to moisturize before applying makeup because otherwise I end up overly greasy. This is a great option, especially when my skin is drier (yes, oily skin gets dry!). It cuts down on the layers of skincare I need to do before applying makeup and makes things much easier. It's expensive, but I got it on sale (Ulta has great sales on Smashbox) and it's lasted forever for me!
