Review for Olaplex No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner - 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Purchased at: Sephora
I purchased this along with the conditioner and have always used both together, so keep that in mind.

I was excited to try this shampoo and conditioner because I have always had the olaplex treatment done when bleaching my hair. Currently my hair is balayage pretty heavily. My natural hair color is a medium dark brown, straight and fine. I've used olaplex #3 on a weekly or biweekly basis and it has seemed to help minimize damage from bleaching.

I use the conditioner after shampooing and rinsing and leave in for 3 minutes or more. The conditioner is not as moisturizing as the shampoo, to me at least. I like working with the shampoo more. I also need to use a lot of the conditioner to really feel like I've applied it evenly.

Anyway once both are rinsed out of my hair, every time I've used it my hair is really tangly. I have to use a lot of a spray leave in conditioner to be able to comb my hair. It is left soft, but I've noticed my hair seems to be more static too. I chopped that up to the weather the first few times I used it, but it's been the same since. Sadly I am not a fan of either shampoo or conditioner. I've had better results using nexxus and getting much larger bottles for less. I will be returning these to sephora because I don't find myself ever wanting to try or use them, but I am still a fan of olaplex #3.

This shampoo lathers up a lot and a little goes a long way. Upon first application it seems like hydrating shampoo. I am able to really work this product in my hair and scalp easily and no complaints on rinsing it out. I use the conditioner after and leave in for 3 minutes. The conditioner is not as moisturizing as the shampoo, to me at least. I like working with the shampoo more.
