I really WANT to like Double wear, but there's something about it... I do like the coverage and the longevity. I like that it is oil free. I wouldn't say it's the lightest foundation, but I guess it's not the heaviest feeling either. I do like the formula, although "spf 10" isn't really going to do much for you, either put in 20 or leave it out entirely. I don't really like the packaging, it seems very small for the price, and overall dated. I think I can't like it because the whole brand just seems so grandmotherly. Like I cannot get into it, I just think "old ladies". Maybe if they revamp the packaging and adverts. I know they have a new creative director now and are trying to move forward (they've partnered with Sephora to be in select Sephora stores now as well which is pretty crazy to think about) so I think they may be headed there eventually, but until they get there I think this one just gets relagated to my "meh..." shelf.
I really like the Nars Sheer Matte (and glow) foundations. They are a nice, lightweight, buildable coverage that gives a really natural finish. The shade range is nice (and goes pretty pale, which is great for a person who doesn't see the sun like myself) but definitely does not go dark enough. The darkest it goes is maybe a lightskinned mixed race color. It is pretty mattifying, but not as mattifying as say Mat Velvet from Makeup Forever, which is not a bad thing. Great for normal to combo-oily skin, but maybe not for the SUPER oily out there. all in all a very good product.
Torched Cherry rum is quite good. I love that it's cherry, but with a kick. It tastes perfect with Coke or Sprite, or even as shot. Very versatile, can be mixed with juice as well. Not too expensive for a big bottle.
I was ona kick with this mascara for a while, but I always had to layer it with a more volumizing mascara. It's not bad, but I wasn't all that impressed after I started using more high end mascaras. If I recall it made my lashes a bit too clumpy for me, and eventually it started to be bad for my lashes. I'mnot sure if it was because I was combining it (usually with the Colossal Volume one) or what, but it made me not like it enough to stop using it...
Love love love YSL lipsticks. The quality is so good. The color/pigment payoff is so good. The packaging is so beyond good. Yes they are pricey, but they are so worth it. It's such a wow factor to pull one of these out of your bag, flashing the beautiful gold case, and applying a deliciously creamy WOW! lip color. I have SUPER dry lips too and these do not dry them out further at all, in fact they stay pretty moist. They have great ingredients and spf too, so it's even better. I really can't recommend these lipsticks enough. Seriously, who cares if you have to save your pennies, they are worth every cent, trust me.
I hadn't heard of Carol's Daughter until recently and after trying a bunch of their products I have to say I really love their Monoi line. It smells wonderful, and is really super moisturizing and repairing. this is especially important for me as I have dry, thick, super curly hair. I also don't like to wash it often, so I like the the scent lingers longer than other brands. The mask is especially great. Dry off the hair a bit, massage through and leave on for 10 minutes and hair is so much more moisturized. I think the one thing I don't like is the cap, squeeze too hard and it'll pop off sometimes.
I was fully prepared to dislike this perfume, usually celebrity perfumes make me gag, and I'm pretty tired of "Mother Monster." Howevver I was really surprised that after I received a sample of it I liked it enough to get a rollerball. It's not as edgy as I would have expected of Gaga, but it's nice with a seductively dark twist. On par with some of the Escada perfumes, or DKNY. It has notes of honey, black orchid, and apricot, so a nice fruity-floral mix. It's sweet, but refreshing, light but sensual. It layers under other scents nicely as well. I just wish the packaginf wasn't so cheap. I love the "black liquid" schtick, but the "claw" is cheap plastic, like a kids toy.
Love Three Olives, and love this flavor too. At first I wasn't sure because it smelled sort of..dish soapy? But mixed with club soda or Sprite and it tastes so good, and was my choice party drink for a while. Kind of got old because you can't mix it with a lot, but I still have it from time to time and it still tastes great. I especially love the packaging too, super fun. Not to mention it's ridiculously affordable for a huge bottle.
I have to say I really dislike whiskey, but this stuff is amazing. So yummy, goes down smooth but not so smooth that you want to overindulge. It really gives you a kick, love the feeling. The bottles cute too and affordable. It tastes like one fo those Fireball candies or a bunch of Red Hots! So good.
