I absolutely love these! I was advised to wear them when treating shin splints two years ago during half marathon training - they really helped to control the discomfort and get me to the start and finish of the race. Since then I use them solely for recovery after long or hard runs and they truly do help cut recovery time down substantially.
I highly recommend this product. As an active runner with hyperhydrosis it has been a lifesaver - it does a fantastic job and controlling sweat, has no scent, and truly leaves no white marks!! Best discovery in ages.
I use these before every long run and have never had any stomach problems with them. They really help fuel me through the first hour or so and can sustain me up until about an hour and 20 minutes. The orange flavor is great.
My favorite on-the-run gel! I almost exclusively use Gu's Orange energy gel to refuel on my long runs. I'm usually good edit one every hour or so, though I don't use them until my long runs exceed an hour and 20 minutes. The texture admittedly isn't the best, but it's hard to argue with the results.
I always make sure to have one in my running bag for after hard track workouts or long runs. I have a 45 minute drive after my group workouts and like to get a quick recovery meal in. It's not ideal, but it really helps. The flavor is the best among the cookie dough flavored protein bars I tried. Definitely have some water to go along with the bar. They're pretty big though, so you might want to consider cutting it in half.
I have used these before several runs (I can't stomach "real" food before my early morning runs). The flavor is good and I do get a good energy push from them that is sustainable for at least an hour. My only complaint with them is that they get stuck in my teeth more so than other energy chews. I will eat them in my car en route to my run, but because of the chewy thing I prefer not to eat them in front of others (I look like a horse eating peanut butter! :-X)
