Review for MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Foundation - 1 year, 2 months ago
Review for: Makeup Forever
(( REVIEW IS FOR 2015 REFORMULATION))
This foundation looks absolutely gorgeous. It just does. The finish of this is the most undetectable and yet most flattering finish I've experienced in a couple years and the 20+ foundations I've tested. I wear shade Y235 Ivory Beige which is an absolutely amazing hue for anyone who is fair-light with neutral/yellow undertones. I haven't come across a shade this perfect for my skin in... ever. I thought NARS had a great shade range but Make Up For Ever blew them out of the water with this new Ultra HD release. What I still can't get over is how much this looks like skin. Lord have Mercy. The only con is that this does get more progressively "glowy" throughout the day so if you are someone who is obsessed with maintaining a matte finish all day perhaps this isn't the best choice for you. But the silver lining is that while this gets glowy it fades off elegantly and doesn't get splotches. Overall, when I purchased Ultra HD I definitely didn't expect to enjoy and love this as much as I do because quite frankly I never shared the enthusiasm over the original version.

P.S And, to state the obvious, this looks fantastic on camera. Flash, selfies, Snapchat... you're covered girl.
Review for Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation - 1 year, 2 months ago

Before I begin ranting on about this foundation I will just say this so everyone can see it: CLINIQUE SELLS $2 PUMPS THAT FIT THE BOTTLE FOR DOUBLE WEAR. You ladies can thank me later although I'm unlikely to be the first to discover this ☺
I might be an unusual buyer of this foundation because my skin is neither oily or acne prone. I guess people figure if you have decent skin you'd definitely prefer the ultra lightweight skin-perfecting type of base that are flooding the market these days. I like them and while I do have a few of those in my collection I own this too because every girl needs to have a full coverage foundation in her collection. This is just damn good. I don't care who you are. I wear two shades, 1N1 Ivory Nude and 2N1 Desert Beige. Ivory Nude is a brilliant match for me in my palest state and I have Desert Beige around for when I am indulging the good ol' fake tan. I have to day that Estee Lauder's shade range for this foundation is fantastic, expansive and modern. I wish some other companies like Dior and Chanel would wake up and jump on that bandwagon. That might seem like a snarky dig but I just tried Dior's new reformulated version of their Diorskin Forever foundation and was actually a little appalled to be honest. The color selection reminded me of the unfortunate peachy orange days of the 90's and the coverage has been drastically decreased. They did themselves a big disservice... which is how I ended up with Double Wear. Anyways this stuff has a very pretty soft matte finish and can last through a zombie apocalypse. It's also noticeably less expensive than pretty much every other high end foundation out there. I'd say the biggest challenge with this baby is making sure you get ALL of it off at night or else you risk clogged pores and subsequent breakouts. I also recommend wearing either a silicone or hydrating primer underneath to create a barrier between your skin and this foundation. Another huge plus is that the color you put on your face in the morning will be the same color you see 2, 5, 8, 11 hours later. This stuff doesn't oxidize. What you see is what you get and I love that. No unattractive peachy pink tinge in daylight (unless you select a color from the cool undertone category which leans on the pink side.)
All in all I can't say I'm impressed because everyone knows how amazing this makeup is but I think pretty much everyone can wear it and it's been a staple for so long for a reason.
If you suffer from tight dry skin sometimes, you need this in your life. NOW. This product stands in for other moisturizers that don't do the job. Very soft, feels great, absorbs quickly. Use this before bed and I wake up with supple soft skin.
Review for The Body Shop Body Shop Shea & Sesame Body Balm - 1 year, 2 months ago
Mmmmm this stuff is delicious! One of those rich, decadent, creamy body butters that feels absolutely lush to apply. A bit pricey compared to drugstore but when I have extra dry elbows, knees and feet this is the baby I reach for. Totally recommend!
Review for Softsoap Sweet Honeysuckle & Orange Peel Bar Soap - 1 year, 2 months ago
Oh goodness the citrusy fresh tangerine smell of this is amazing!! I use it to wash my hands multiple times a day. Smells a lot more fun than regular 'ol bar soaps. Usually pick it up at any CVS, Rite Aid or WalMart. Wish my friends had this in their bathrooms instead of that other stuff ;)
Review for SheaMoisture Our Best Loved Bar Soaps 4-Count - 1 year, 2 months ago
Wonderful moisturizing softening bar soap! Clean and lovely scent. Purchased it at Target. Enjoy using this in the shower every night when I wash. The scent is clean but feminine. Overall I repurchase this much more than other brand name bar soaps.
