Review for Glo Skin Beauty Phyto-Active Cream Cleanser - 1 month, 1 week ago

I've been using the Glo Skin Beauty Phyto Active Cream Cleanser for the past couple of weeks. I'll admit... I'm new to this brand and had never heard of them before. I was lucky enough to receive the cleanser/lipstick set complimentary from @influenster for testing purposes. It's always nice to learn about different brands and products. I'm very picky about cleansers. I'm an advocate for creamy cleansers and I completely oppose any cleanser that is considered a "foaming" cleanser. This is a cream-based, anti-aging cleanser.

It's a little on the pricy side, retailing for $46 for 6.7 fl. oz. I really like this cleanser so far, although I'm not sure that I would pay the full retail price of $46 for any cleanser. Cleansers can be great, but they wash down the sink, and I doubt their ability to sink into the skin for long-term benefits.

It has Papaya enzymes that exfoliate, and peptides and plant stem cells to promote cell turnover and collagen production. They claim that with continued use, you'll notice firmer, smoother, softer skin. You can find this product and brand at Dermstore, which I'm a huge fan of (they're owned by Target and often have coupon codes). The brand itself is cruelty free!

Great store with a great pet product selection. Fast shipping and great customer service. This is where I order all of my dogs toys from and also their food. Much better than toting heavy bags of food home from a local pet store and they're for a fraction of the price!
Review for Mad Hippie Cream Cleanser - 2 months, 2 weeks ago

I love this cleanser! My bathroom is literally filled with different types of cleansers but there are few that I actually use because so many of them dry out my skin. The Mad Hippie cleanser is one of just a few cleansers that leaves my skin soft and moisturized after washing my face. It doesn't leave it tight and dry. For those who may not know, if your cleanser leaves your skin feeling tight after use, you need to find something else because it's literally stripping your skin of the layer of good oils that it needs to stay healthy. I can use this cleanser with and without my Clarisonic. It feels so good while I'm using and after I finish using it. It removes all the makeup and dead skin cells without completely stripping my skin. I highly recommend giving this a try!

Review for Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara - 3 months, 1 week ago

I was really excited to try out this mascara and see if it was truly worth the hype. I love the innovative wand design. The 90 degree applicator makes it easy to grab onto smaller, stray lashes. I like the applicator brush. It helps keep the lashes separated without clumping them together, which is technically an attribute of the formula also. That's where my love for this mascara ends though. Because this isn't a waterproof formula, I found that it transferred to my lower eye area within a few hours. The mascara formula itself was pretty thin, which is good because it doesn't clump, but the problem is that it didn't provide any volume and length. I was able to build it up a little with multiple coats but not much. Honestly this didn't perform any better than an average drugstore mascara. For the additional cost of a high end mascara, I expect it to make my lashes pop and look voluminous. Finally, my biggest frustration of all was the heavy rose fragrance added to this product. I understand that some cosmetic companies add fragrance to mask the chemical smell in some products. However they are typically light and fresh, as not to be offensive or trigger migraines in people who have issues with heavy scents. In my opinion, a heavy rose perfume scent does not belong in mascara or any other product being applied to the eyes. Overall, this product is a pass for me. It would be nice for a natural daily look if they would remove the scent and make a waterproof version.

I received Givenchy complimentary for review purposes.

Review for CLARISONIC Mia 2 Sonic Skin Cleansing System - 3 months, 2 weeks ago

I LOVE my Clarisonic Mia. I own 2 Mia's and 1 full sized Clarisonic. The Mia works perfectly and is really all that anyone needs for a much cheaper price than the full sized Clarisonic. It cleanses deep down into my pores and keeps my skin clean, beyond what I can achieve with a basic wash cloth. I love that you can buy different types of brush heads which are tailored to your individual skin needs. They even make a foundation brush now that fits perfectly on the Mia. I honestly can't live without my Clarisonic. Compare it to how a sonic toothbrush cleans your teeth so much more effectively than a manual toothbrush does. The Clarisonic does the same for your skin but it's not too harsh. Definitely recommend trying it out. You won't regret it!

Review for Proactiv 3-Step System (60-Day Supply) - 3 months, 2 weeks ago

The Proactiv system is ok but not something that I feel should be used long-term. It really depends on the age and type of acne you're experiencing because all acne isn't the same. Some acne is caused by clogged pores and a lack of a proper skincare routine and daily cleansing. For those people, this system is way too much. It can quickly dry your skin out and cause even more issues down the line. Cystic acne or hormonal acne requires other types of treatment that this system may or may not help. With that said, this is a decent system to try if you're not ready to visit a doctor and just want to try a basic system to see how it helps. Just be cautious of using it for longer than 6 months. It's very harsh on the skin and can dry it out, which causes even more problems.

Review for L'Oréal Paris RevitaLift® Triple Power Deep Acting Moisturizer - 3 months, 2 weeks ago

This is my new go-to anti-aging moisturizer. When I received this from Influenster to test, I had no idea that I would love it as much as I do. I'm a very blunt and honest person. I will tell you when I receive a product that I don't like. This is fortunately one that I love. As a beauty junkie and blogger, I have tons of products in my stash. I pay an average of $50 on moisturizers so it's really nice to find something in the drugstore price range. In just a 2 week period, the results I experienced were almost unbelievable. I took plenty of before and after photos without makeup to show the improvement I experienced, and I didn't use any filters at all. After 2 weeks, my skin was much brighter and not as dull. The hyper-pigmentation was reduced. The fine lines and wrinkles were smoothed out. I typically don't review skincare products until I've used them for 4-6 weeks because it typically takes time to see benefits from skincare. This is very different though, and I can't wait to use it even longer and see the results I achieve long-term. One of the things I like most is that it works perfectly for Day and night use. I've had a lot of trouble finding a daytime moisturizer that doesn't "ball up" under my makeup. This one absorbs quickly, isn't thick or greasy, and wears beautifully under makeup. I will definitely purchase this in the future and continue to use. Highly recommend!

Review for Timeless Skin Care 20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum 1 oz. - 4 months, 2 weeks ago

I LOVE this Vitamin C formula. This is a water-based Vitamin c formula containing l-absorbic acid which is the most effective form of Vitamin c for skincare purposes. Equivalent formulas cost between $100-150. It's in an opaque blue glass bottle so that light can't get into it and break down the ingredients. Each bottle is made right before shipping so you're guaranteed to get a fresh bottle with every order. Each bottle will last around 60-45 days before it starts breaking down. You can store it in the refrigerator to reduce the oxidation time. I'm currently on my 4th bottle of this stuff and I just placed a new order. It really works well to brighten the skin and help keep it fresh looking. I'm 41, and I won't go without this now. It's certainly better than paying over $100 for another popular brand.

Review for Natasha Denona Sunset Eyeshadow Palette - 4 months, 2 weeks ago
This was my very first purchase from Natasha Denona, and I'm officially hooked. The shadows are all very creamy, pigmented, and easy to work with. The mattes are beautiful and blend out nicely. There's only one matte shade out of the entire palette that is a little patchy. All of the metallics are beautiful. I'm 41, and I bought this palette thinking that I would never use the yellow or red shades. I tried them out, and they're actually stunning. They can be toned down and blended out for a more subtle effect. Perfect for any age. I did an extensive review of this palette on my blog. Be sure to check it out for swatches using a brush and fingers, as well as details about every aspect of this palette. In addition, I discuss the price tag, which has been a source of much debate online. You may be shocked to learn that the price per gram of these shadows is less than ABH, Makeup Geek and MAC. Highly recommend!

Review for Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick - 5 months, 3 weeks ago

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are very popular among the beauty community but they're not my favorite brand. They are highly pigmented and apply nicely. I like the packaging and applicator. However, I find the formula is somewhat drying and it doesn't last very long on my lips before I'm dying to apply a hydrating gloss or topper over it. Otherwise, they start drying out too much and crack on me. I much prefer other brands such as Huda Beauty.

On another note, I do like the new lip liners that Kat recently released. They are very creamy and last a long time. They aren't drying and don't crack.
