Hi there! I'm Heather and I'm a substitute teacher, a newlywed, and a first time home owner. I live in Iowa and am a mommy to two cats and a dog. I am always on the hunt for the best and cheapest products, so I hope my feedback helps!
I love The Tarte company and their products so when I ran out of my normal foundation, I decided to give this a try. I wanted to like it, I really did. But it just isn't for me. When I first put it on, it has a nice matte finish that seems like it will last all day. However, it only stayed for a few hours before I noticed a lot of it had fallen off of my cheeks, chin, and nose. Not only this, but by the end of the day, it looked so cakey in the spots that it DID stay on that my face looked like a disaster. I'm sure this works great for some skin types, but not for my combination skin.
My husband is a Shriner and it's so wonderful to see how excited he gets knowing that he's helping kids who are in these hospitals. Though I've never seen the hospitals in action, I know that the Shriners who work to raise money are some of the best people you will ever meet.
One of my favorite workout apparel brands. Reasonably priced, with tons of cute and colorful options. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons: 1. C9 sports bras used to be the ONLY brand I would wear because of how awesome the compression and support was. But now they've changed them to keep up with what's trendy and have lost some of the support along the way. 2. Their leggings just don't quite fit me right like some other brands. Maybe it's just me, but the pair of Champion crop leggings o have just isn't comfortable.
I've taken my fair share of "diet pills" without too many insane side effects, so I would definitely say I'm not sensitive to stimulants. So I heard some things about this and decided to give it a try about a year ago - it was the LAST time I will ever take a stimulant-based diet pill. I took one of these pills in the morning and was fine until about 20 minutes in. After that, I started getting intense heart palpitations, I was extremely light headed, and my anxiety went off the charts. I was in such bad shape that I literally laid on my bedroom floor for about an hour trying to get my heart rate to calm down. After a while, the side effects calmed down enough that I could somewhat go about my day and still function, but my anxiety was so unbearable that I could barely concentrate. I know everyone reacts differently to pills, so some people might not have any issues with this stuff, but please BE CAREFUL when you take stimulants/fat burners.
I bought this a while back and gave it a try and wasn't too thrilled about it so it wound up in a deep, dark corner of my bathroom cabinet. Since it's the middle of summer, and the humidity does ungodly things to my hair, I dug this back out yesterday to give it a second chance. I applied a tiny amount of this (even less than the dime size amount recommended) and worked it through my damp hair before diffusing. I will admit that my curls looked a little less frizzy than usual so I was fairly happy about that. Fast forward to this morning, and my hair was SO greasy at the roots when I woke up. Usually I can make it at least 2, maybe even 3, days before I start noticing it getting really greasy. Not the case after using this product yesterday. It might be a life saver for some girls, but not for me!
There are some things I really love about Maurice's, and a few things that I'm not so fond of. First, let's start with the good: Maurice's is one of the ONLY stores where I can consistently find dress slacks that are good quality, fit my big booty and thighs, and also come in a 'short' length. Almost every other store I look at has slacks that are missing at least one of those requirements. Another thing I like is that they are becoming more trendy than they had been in the past, so it's a little easier for me to find clothes there that still feel young enough for my 24 year old self, but aren't skimpy or cheap quality. Now onto the negatives: The biggest issue I have when I shop at Maurice's is that I NEVER know what size I need to grab because the sizing on their clothing is SO much different than every other store I go to. At 99% of stores, I wear somewhere between a 7 and a 10 in pants (and usually it's like an 8 or 9), but the last time I was at Maurice's, I bought 5/6s and even tried on some 3/4s. WAY off from the norm. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's definitely a mood booster to buy a smaller size, but when that's the only store you're doing that at, you know something is off. Additionally, as I said in the positives of my review, I do think that Maurice's IS becoming more trendy with what it sells, but there's still times where it just misses the mark and the clothes they have are just not quite what I'm looking for at my age point.
Overall, it's a great place to shop, especially if you don't have a stick-thin figure because there are a variety of options available!
I used this for a while a few years ago, and even though it claims to be "hand renewal" soap, I thought it dried my hands out quite a bit. And on top of it, it had a smell to it that I just really wasn't fond of. I much prefer the original blue Dawn!
Love this lotion! I put it on right after jumping out of the shower and it makes my skin so soft! It's kind of thick, but it doesn't leave me feeling greasy at all once I rub it in. And OMG, it leaves my legs SO, SO smooth. Would totally recommend this to anyone looking for a good daily lotion or anyone who gets dry skin.
