I used to subscribe to Ipsy. I was amazed by it and delighted. $10 for makeup and a quirky makeup bag that changed monthly? Great! However the appeal quickly wore off.
You get the same brand and item variety every month. Aka mostly black eyeliners, nude/pink lip products, and a lot of shampoo or hair sprays. Thanks to Ipsy, I have collected so much black eyeliners and pink lip crayons, it's insane. While they do have a few limited high brands, most normal subscribers will not receive it in their bags.
I also found that they have a serious quality control issue with the products they send. There were a few months before, where they sent expired or bad batches of certain samples. Other times the items you receive don't match up with your profile preferences at all.
On the plus side, it's a cheap and affordable subscription.
I have subscribed to them in the past, and for what it's worth, it's pretty average most of the time. While most items ARE considered luxury items, I feel like you can get a cheaper dupe with the same quality elsewhere (things such as stationery or health/food).
Even still, with a discount code this subscription becomes super worth it. Without it, at the very least you'll get 1-2 items that cover the price for you. This is great as a gift.
I received this in my ipsy bag. I'm not a huge fan of nude color lipsticks, however this surprisingly pleased me. This is more on the mauve/pinkish type of nude, at least on me it was. This lipstick is smooth, and creamy, and does not dry out your lips. Which is a great thing. You can build upon the color, if you wish for it to go darker, but otherwise this is great for a more natural type of look. The only downside was that this wore off rather quickly.
Hands down one of the best online stores to buy Asian goodies around. Shipping is reasonably priced, but can get expensive if you buy a lot. Customer service is good, and very helpful. Last time I ordered from them, they alerted me that my package would arrive a week or so later than intended due to some of the products breaking during shipment. They replaced it. The shipping time itself is iffy. It all depends on the area you are in. Otherwise, it's pretty good too. They have a great assortment of things, ranging from snacks to toys to book-bags to drinks. The only downside is how often the good stuff tends to be out of stocked. Make sure you watch their facebook page, or sign up for their newsletter to receive coupon codes every so often. Those do make a difference.
Hm, I'm not sure what to think of this. I received this in a previous Ipsy bag. I don't usually use hair products due to having Psoriasis on my scalp, and having too much of thin and straight hair. I tried this on the bottom portion of my hair, and didn't see any dramatic result at all. It did help keep the bed-time curls my hair managed to get into while in a pony tail, but other than that I saw no change. This product also smells strongly of coconuts, or rather Piña coladas. Personally I don't like the smell, but to each their own. I will keep trying this product out, and if I see any different results, I will update my review.
This product is one of my favorite 'go-to' lip products around. A few months back I got a sample of this in a nice classic red type of color. I really do love this. It moisturizes and feels like a non-sticky gloss upon application, but as it settles and dries it becomes semi matte with a soft shine to it (For me, this was about 1 hour into wearing it). It doesn't settle too much into any noticeable cracks on dry lips, and this lasts fairly well for a few hours, as it doesn't fade or transfer too much. I did notice that the color changed to a soft orange-red after a few hours of wear time. Overall this is a must buy, and remember: Just as any lip product, you should exfoliate your lips, and if you wish- for darker colors- use a lip liner.
For what its worth, and for what you pay for, this is the best cheapest option you will get. Prices can vary from $1 to $50, depending on how far advance you buy your tickets. The seats are pretty comfortable too. Megabus does make pit stops, so passengers will be free to step outside for 10 minutes or so to get food, use the restrooms or smoke it up. That's as far as the pros go. While they advertise free wi-fi, good luck ever getting in as everyone and the outside world struggle to fight over who gets into the connection. Besides that, you are not guaranteed a seat. Yes, you pay for a ticket, but if its magically filled to the brim with people, you will not get a refund. You will not get a refund for emergencies either. At the least, they MAY allow you to hop on a later megabus if there are spots available. This is rare to come by.
If you are lucky enough to grab a hold of a seat, and manage to not get your luggage stolen (yes this does happen, unfortunately), the congratulations! Your megabus ride will be a long good one.
Overall this is a great option for those who don't want to spend hundreds on a train or plane ride, or those who don't mind long rides. It's affordable, and you get what you pay for.
Steam is great. It's awesome and it works. Steam is a community, as well as a place that stores that massive collection of games you will soon buy. Seriously. It is rather hard to NOT buy anything during the sales when many games will go up to 75% off. Besides that, steam allows you to connect and talk with both friends and strangers, as well as allow you to recommend and review games. There is also an offline mode, but I am not sure how well that works. Sometimes this mode will not activate unless you turn it on previously (If you have no internet connection, then this is bad). Hmm. Another downside is that the steam overlay can glitch up and crash or lag SOME games. Otherwise, the steam overlay is a good idea in general. It allows you to chat with friends, or look at the game page, to see or give advice and share screenshots. There is also a badge and trading system that was recently implemented. Again, not sure how this exactly works. I personally don't see a point in this, but many love it. Take that as you will.
Overall, steam is great for pc users. However DO NOTE, steam is a drm itself. You can ONLY access these games through steam- though some games can be played without steam. Another note: Amazon sometimes have far better game deals than steam. Keep your options open.
I received this in an ipsy bag before, and since then, have used this product multiple times. I was pretty stoked to try this and for the first few times it actually seemed to work. However, after a few uses I noticed that my eyebrows became encrusted with a white crusty/flakey substance after an hour or so of leaving it on. When I washed it off, the eyebrow hair was STILL stiff and felt as if it was encased in some invisible coating. Frankly, it was pretty weird. Besides that, the product itself just smells horrible. The only positive thing about this product was that it actually DID keep the eyebrow hairs in place.
