Hi there! I am a college student that loves running and lifting, baking and cooking, and makeup and skincare. I am a vegan and also have several food intolerances, including gluten, and I try to eat as organic and natural as possible. I am always on the hunt for high quality (but crazy expensive) workout clothes and gear. I am a makeup and skincare junkie, and I only use cruelty-free products and try to avoid certain chemicals like parabens, triclosan, and phthalates. I also prefer beauty products that are vegan and use more natural ingredients.
This mist is nice and refreshing on the skin. I'm not a huge fan of the scent of tea tree oil, but I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that this product doesn't smell too overwhelmingly of tea tree. I really enjoy Lush products because they are cruelty-free and contain natural ingredients, so I don't have to worry about what I'm putting on my body.
I've never owned an actual Beauty Blender, so I can't say how this sponge compares. But, based on youtube videos, Instagram, product reviews, etc, I know what makeup sponge is supposed to do and how it should perform. I think it does exactly what it should, which is to blend your makeup and make the application even and seamless. It does take a while to saturate the sponge with water, but it doesn't bother me too much. I think for the price, this sponge is absolutely worth it.
Ugh, Cookie Butter is both the light of my life and the bane of my existence. It is sooo yummy (and vegan!) but so addicting that I have, at times, eaten spoonful after spoonful until half the jar is gone. Whoops. You can get a different brand of cookie butter at Walmart, and it's good, but Trader Joe's is honestly better! It's a perfect topping or spread for so many things, or you can just eat it out of the jar like me :p Seriously, one of my all-time favorite snacky foods.
This app is comprehensive but so easy to use. Even with the free version, there are many ways you can customize the nutrition and activity tracker to your personal needs and goals. I use My Fitness Pal to make sure that I'm getting enough carbs to fuel my workouts and enough protein to repair my muscles and recover. And after enough use, I almost don't even need it anymore to guesstimate the calories and nutrients I'm taking in! I would definitely recommend this to everyone, whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle, or just keep performing your best.
I got this as a free gift for signing up for Birchbox, and I have to say I'm impressed! I've been wanting to try Pixi for quite some time, and if this palette is any indication of the rest of the products, I'll be very happy! The colors are beautiful, rich and shimmery but not too sparkly or obnoxious. They're very smooth and pigmented too. I looked up the price, and for $12, this is a great deal!
I had never tried a foundation stick before, so I figured I'd give a cheaper one a try before committing to something more expensive. All of the ELF products I've used in the past have been good quality, so I was hoping this foundation would work out. It didn't. The color selection was limited and the lightest shade was still a tad too dark for me. It's very difficult to blend and buff out, and makes my face look a little cakey. Considering how little I paid for it, I'm not too upset, but I wouldn't recommend this.
This concealer palette is awesome! I use all the shades in this except the brown. I've had the palette for at least four months and have been using it pretty regularly (at least 2-3 times a week), and it look like I've barely even made a dent in any of the colors. The formula is creamy and pigmented, but doesn't make any product you put over it look cakey. I would absolutely recommend this, especially considering how affordable it is!
This concealer isn't quite full coverage, at least not under the eyes, as the name would suggest. I'd say it's more of a medium coverage. I prefer to use this concealer over blemishes rather than to cover dark circles and think that the formula is more suited for such use. It's not the best concealer I have, but it does it's job and is so affordable!
This highlighter is great for the price! Because it's baked, the top layer is a bit hard and difficult to get much product off of. But, once you get past the top layer it is creamy and pigmented. It's easy to add a subtle glow or build it up to a popping highlight that lasts all day. Definitely recommend!
This eyeliner cream works pretty well. I think it's easier to control than most liquid eyeliners because the formula isn't as "slippery" or prone to moving around. It's pretty pigmented and long lasting, but does smudge a bit if you rub your eyes or touch the line where you applied. It's not the best eyeliner out there, but for the price it's absolutely worth it.
